IngaViolet's Journal, 17 March 2016

So I was thinking, if I could lose 1 pound/week I would be 12 pounds lighter by the time I go on vacation. I know 12 pounds doesn't sound very exciting for a lot of you, but for me - it's a lot.
They say it's really the healthiest way also. :)
I know it's not as easy as it looks.
It's like I need to come up with a new plan for the week each Sunday. I usually don't go on different diets, I just don't like "ping, pong" effect, I don't believe in that route.
I started with recording my food that I eat. Sometimes just being aware of how many calories I've consumed, helps me to turn situation around...
So I'll try again. :)

Diet Calendar Entry for 17 March 2016:
217 kcal Fat: 13.52g | Prot: 4.12g | Carb: 25.51g.   Breakfast: Polaner Raspberry Jelly, Butter (Salted), Shaw's Multi Grain Whole Grain Bread. more...

That is the best approach, tracking and keeping within 1500 calories really helped me. I started at the beginning of the year at 169 and was 156.5 on Monday morning. So you are in the right track, being mindful of what we are consuming and not eliminating food groups is the way to go.Good luck.

12 pounds is a fair amount, especially if you're not very overweight. It's the calorie deficit that counts, though, so a bit of extra movement and exercise helps.

Hello I totally agree with your statement that just recording calories keeps you in check. I wanted to loose 10 lbs before going on my trip to AZ in March. I tried that in January and I came back from AZ last week and I found out I had gained 16lbs! Well I didn't gain 16 lbs from just being in AZ one week. I was 16lbs lighter in the beginning of Oct when I started my new job and now 5 month later I am 16lb heavier. I could not believe it! I asked myself how did this happen? Then I thought well you weren't counting cals or exercising on a regular basis so that how AMY! I had started a new job in Oct and office job and I was used to work in a bakery where I was loosing weight if you can believe that! I think that working two jobs keeps you in check calories wise too because I didn't have time to really eat! But I know that when I put my mind to something I will accomplish it. When I look at tackling a challenge positively, positive things will happen. I am looking at this challenge as something that will positively help my over all well being and the benefits I will gain on my weight loss journey. I used to run in high school and now I am looking to get back into it. This challenge looks fun!

I think for your starting weight 12lbs is actually a lot. It is like 8% of your original weight. I have gained weight while being away from home for longer and just treated every day like holiday. Big mistake. Crossing my fingers for you :)

(Aristona)I gained 16 lbs from October to March. I like it but I don't think that its horrible. That's 5 months so it wasn't like a gained it in a month or something. I am trying to loose and thanks for supporting me! (Real_gone_girl) I agree patience is a virtue I need! Hahah! This past week I stuck to my videos and one day I even jogged for 30 mns and then did another 20 minute video! Since its snowing in MN, I wasn't able to run other than the one day. This Friday I am going to run and do my two videos. This week I have worked out 2 twice and will continue to do my videos so that I will have worked out 6 days this week! Staying positive! What are your workout routines?
