The other day I had my bio metric appointment through my pharmacy done. My waist measurement, height & weight, blood, all that stuff. They measured my waist over my clothes, ran my measurements through the computer and gave me a BMI of 27.3. I measured my waist, it was a good 3 inches smaller than the numbers they wrote down, & about 3 lbs lighter. I'm a bit lost about what my BMI actually is. And aren't they supposed to use calipers on your fatty bits to determine your BMI? I left that appointment feeling fatter than ever! lol!

NO! Calipers measure actual percent of body fat. The BMI is a calculation based upon your height, body frame, and weight. I feel like BMI is a useless number because it does not account for your lean body mass vs. body fat. I have a high BMI but have low body fat and high muscle mass for my age.
