Just being nosy? What kind of diet are you doing to lose weight? Or health plan if you want to call it that. Counting calories, carbs, fasting…? Just curious how it is going for you? I grew up counting calories and it has led to a lot of weight loss, countless binges, and weight gain. I have recently started doing low carb, it seems to be going okay, I am losing weight, which is shocking because I feel like I am eating a ton of food. So I feel like soemthing must be wrong, how can I eat

This much and still continue to lose weight? It doesn’t make since, I feel like I am cheating the system now. I have spent most of my life starving myself, how is it possible to drop weight easily by just not eating carbs. I don’t know, I’m at a loss. I guess I can accept that his works but it seems to good to be true at this point. I am a skeptic of good things!!! Thank you

1200-1500 calorie diet with 30-45 minutes of exercise 3-7x a week 30 lbs lost so far! I feel great

When I do 1200-1500 calories a day I am so hungry. I think I wasn’t eating enough protein when I was trying to count calories. By eating low carb I am forced to eat protein and I’m not hungry all the time. I need to work on upping my protein if I go back to calorie counting again.

I try and say under 2500 cal and below 150 net carbs. But for the last 5 1/2 months most of it’s been stress related. But when things are running smooth, I still have craving for dark chocolate and ice cream. But I do it in moderation and don’t wait till I can’t control myself for eating a whole bag chocolate or a whole gallon of ice cream. Also, I try to walk at least 3500 steps a day. That’s just because my job is sitting on my butt all day. I also try and get up more often and move around. But at 65 years old, my knees are shot and when the weather changes and walking is not a top priority. My favorite form of exercise is swimming, but since they put the re-sync defibrillator pacemaker in, they won’t let me swim my usual a mile a day five days a week. So I just walk as much as I can, plus when I work from home to two-story house for the time being so I get the climbing up and down so it’s not too bad.

I have been on both ends of the spectrum. I did low carb for many years(17 till about 25 ). I ate anything I wanted when I was pregnant with my second child and I gained 100 lb. I went back to low carb post pregnancy, then I did keto, then I did carnivore. I went from 237-160 standing at 5'2. When I was diagnosed with binge eating disorder, i had stopped dieting, I went back to eating whatever with counting calories. I did lose weight. enough rambling. there are good points just as well as bad points with any particular diet, what works best for you may not work best for everybody. it's just discovering what foods you eat that enable you to lose weight. it's just kind of experimenting to see what works best for you. I love this community for getting different insights from different minded people and compiling it and to taking the points that work best for you.

CICO with emphasis on nutritional value. Not low carb but LOWER and healthier carbs, higher protein, moderate fats. Watch the sodium.portion control. Healthier eating most of the time and less healthy, or less conducive to achieving or maintaining my goals, just once in a while. Deprivation does not work, guilt does not work.

Thank y'all for sharing. I feel like if I ever quit doing low carb I am going to gain all my weight back. When I was counting calories, I didn’t gain the weight back. My problem is I tried to keep my calories around 600-700 a day, which is basically starving myself, so I would end up binging. I just need some sanity in all this, I have had problems since I was 11 years old and was developing faster than the other girls in ballet class. I quit eating lunch at school because I noticed once I started losing weight my ballet teacher liked me more and put me in front of the class. And here I am at 44 with serious problems that never truly leave my mind. I am so tired of it. I envy people that can just eat normally or not be so extreme with their weight loss. I just want peace and to be a normal weight. Thanks for letting me rant.

I watched the Netflix You Are What You Eat: A Twin Experiment and stopped eating all meat 10 days ago. What a difference it has made so far. I have lost 7lbs in 10 days, a lot if it is inflammation my face is less puffy, and my joints hurt a lot less. The biggest struggle has been to find foods that provide proteins that are not meat. So far it's just been eggs, beans and meal replacement shakes. I also cut out all carbs that do not come from a fruit or vegetables. It has been really hard but I can really feel the difference is a short perios of time.

I was a vegetarian in high school, not because o killing animals but just because I really don’t like meat. Occasionally I will eat a hamburger or a beef taco, but besides that I am okay with carbs and veggies. I still feel that way, I force myself to eat meat but really I don’t like it. My husband made pork chops the other night and I only ate like 3 small peices and then gave the rest to our dogs. It makes me feel nauseous just looking at it. I might just go back to vegetarian, not just for weight loss but because I prefer it. I will just have to seek other sources for protein. It’s just a preference. I will eat tuna and fish, but pork, bacon, and chicken just grosses me out. It got worse while I was pregnant and since then I really just feel sick when I look at meat. I can’t tell my shivand this because he will not understand.

I try to stay around 1000 to 1100 calories a day and walk around 6-8 miles a day; when I’m not super busy. I eat a normal diet except for things with gluten and things high in fructose corn syrups or tree nuts and things with soy. I mostly am worried with portion control, and getting enough exercise during the day.

When I was trying to lose weight, I did calorie counting + high protein. Also a big fan of low cal/high volume foods. Seems to work pretty well for me.

I’ve been trying to gain recently and really focus on my protein for some muscle gains. I’m having a hard time increasing my cals because I’m never super hungry bc of the protein! Crazy the difference in just changing the macros.

I’m still struggling to even eat reasonably…(disordered eating)…so my goal is not an initial plan, but consistent steps in the right direction. I have made progress, but it would not be healthy enough to look like progress to someone who is not familiar with eating problems. The most important part is getting to a point where you no longer have to compensate for the past, lol.

I've been counting calories. I can't seem to get below 2000 calories. even 1900 is a nice stretch for me. I'm about 17 lbs down, basically at goal.

look up you tube channel Maria Emmerich's videos on keto, carnivore and Protein Spearing modified fasting. Eat keto and/or carnivore diet most days and throw in 2-3 days each week of PSMF (protein spearing modified fast). when you get to your goal weight you slowly increase your carbs each week. Look up Maria Emmerich articles on protein spearing modified fast. THIS WORKS. Keto/carnviore days is higher fat, low carbs, moderate protein and on the PSMF days it's low fat, moderate/high protein low carbs. This tricks the body to releasing fat. Some will eat PSMF two or 3 days in a row then eat keto/carnviore the rest of the days OR some will eat PSMF every other day. You tube has PSMF vids 'what to eat" etc. Maria Emmerich has a free PSMF calculator for you to determine how many carbs, fat, protein for your weight & body fat so there is no guessing. Then you can put in your food for the day in Fatsecrets to determine if you are staying in the perimeters for that day. This works really well and quickly especially if you hit a weight stall. For keto see you tube channels Dr Berg (vids keto for beginners, electroyles, keto flu), Dr Eckberg, and dr boz and for carnviore diet you tube channels See Dr Ken Berry (vids carnviore for beginners, carnviore on a budget, elecyroyles, carnviore flu), Kelly hogan, Maria emmerich (she has a ton of recipes), Steak and butter gal, homestead how, Dr Chaffee, Shawn baker md podcast (these have tons of interview testimonies of people losing massive amounts of weight AND healing every health issue including type 2 diabetes, gut issues, mood issues, brain fog, etc etc long list of healing and everyone is getting off their Rx drugs because their bodies are healing on carnviore & keto. library will have books on keto, carnvore, protein spearing modified fast and fasting. For fasting you tube channels Dr Mindy pelz vids 7 types of fasting, what to drink on a fast, refeed after a fast, detox liver/kidney, heavy metal detox, mold, opening lymph pathways and more and chanel Dr Jason Fung fasting etc. Take care IF YOU ARE LOSING WEIGHT...then keep eating what you are eating if you have energy from the food. When you hit a weight stall then try backing off your food intake 50-100 calaries to see if your weight stall stops and you start losing weight again. You tube channel Steak and butter gal has videos on "eating lots of food" and also "weight stall" and "fat to heal fill you up) (maybe you need more fat on your low carb diet)...she says listen to your body. What ever diet you were eating it might have been lacking nutrient and that is why you are eating so much now. Your body knows when it needs more good clean food and when it does not.

@LaineAndTheDog98 for eating issues look up you tube channel Nutrition with Judy. She had an eating disorder and healed it with the carnviore diet. I have read many other testimonies of others that have done the same. Judy has vids to help you and she talks about her healing after being on the vegan diet that created the eating disorder. more you tube channels for you to look at for the carnviore diet Kelly hogan, steak and butter gal, home stead how, dr ken berry vids carnviore for beginners, electroyles, carnviore flu. LIbrary will have books on carnviore diet. This diet is a healing diet for all types of health issues including eating disorders. also DO A PARASISTE CLEANSE..many eating disorders are actually parasite issues. we all have parasites. in the old days it was common to do TWO parasite cleanses a year. Big phrama does not want people to know that most disease are caused by parasites. for you tube parasite cleansing videos see channels Dr Berg, Dr Ken berry, Dr Group, Dr Axe, brenda watson road to perfect health, candida eric bakker naturopath vids candida, hpylori, parasites, gut healing, earther academy (he is a doctor who was a vegan for 15 years keep getting sicker and sicker he switched to carnivore diet and healed he has good vids on why we need to do a parasite cleanse twice a year. Parasites will cause people to over eat and crave foods etc. Wishing you all the best.

Jibbee, I am not willing to do carnivore, but I will copy the strong will and discipline of those who choose to eat only meat. Is eating only meat healthy for the average person? Far from it!!! However, it is less dangerous than extreme obesity, if the food problem is bad enough, and if you are not at a high risk of whatever issues it would cause for you. Although it would be dangerous for me to eat only meat, I will up my standards and stop saying “baby steps” all the time, in honor of the discipline it takes for some people, to eat nothing that is delicious, just plain meat 😂. Meat can be tasty, but carnivore means plain meat which is different. 😂And like I said, carnivore is dangerous for the average person, but maybe ok if you were so addicted to food that it was what you had to resort to, and you asked your doctor too.
