OutlanderFan's Journal, 16 November 2015

Had a good weekend staying on plan. I have also been experimenting with "intermittent fasting" and found it to be incredibly easy. I eat only between 12 noon and 8 pm, so in essence one fasts for 16 hrs of the day (including sleep). This seemed easier to me than fasting whole days several times per week. I have not been hungry at all in the mornings and find that I have an incredible amount of energy. I do not have cravings or hypoglycemic spells (those are awful!).

I also got an answer to the concern I had about by breath ketones being lower than previously. I was able to chat with the inventor of the Ketonix meter, and he said that what this shows is that I am now "keto-adapted," meaning that not only am I manufacturing ketones, but that I am burning them as fuel now. Makes sense. Surprised that the cravings for sweets has gone but I am glad to no longer be a slave to them.

Good luck to everyone else on this journey!

I lost a LOT of weight by only eating once a day. I know it can be easy. I'm glad its working for you. I didnt keep it up though due to a change in my circumstances. Isn't it odd how some theories say 'little and often' and some advocate fasting! Maybe its an individual thing. Interesting info about Ketones, eh!
