Yearofhealth2023's Journal, 09 January 2024

Well here we go, into what is generally the worst 60 days in western Washington weather. Loads of rain, sometimes snow, windstorms and trying to ignore the voice that says, “let’s stay home today.” So far so good. My puppies (grown ups😂) help. Especially the little guy. He gets so excited to go for his walk he dances on his hind legs comes quickly to put his head thru the harness but is so wiggly with happiness i have to slow him down often to get it on. My big boy doesnt always want to go but never ever wants to be left. I identify. I often dont want to go. Don’t want to walk. Don’t want to work out. Don’t want to be crippled, obese and feeling sick. That last dont overrides all the others. For now. Hoping it always does. To anyone that is reading this today please do me a favor and call someone who you love and just remind them how much they mean to you. Give your partner a hug for no reason call a friend who matters you haven’t spoken to for a while. It matters.

I got stuck in Ashland, Oregon last March driving home from visiting my niece who lives in Washington, near Olympia due to a blizzard at the end of March around MT Shasta. Washington had nice weather during my visit

Unity I wish you could also. You are so kind🥰

Fritzy i live about 45 miles northeast of Olympia and I remember that unexpected snow storm so late in the year. Has been happening more and more frequently in the past few years. Our pretty time is usually June-September. Really glad you had nice weather during your visit. There is nothing prettier than western Washington on a pretty day. It’s probably what makes us all continue to live here during the dreary 8-9 months of the year😂

Sounds like you're having our weather....this aM started with wet sloppy snow. Has poured buckets since then with high winds. Another couple of mild days with rain ahead, then the polar vortex hits and we finally get into more seasonal weather. Love the pic (and the bling)

Family & friends, far more important than "things."

It's sunny in Los Angeles. You're right, it's people that are important.

You are so right! We often take the importance of family and friends for granted. You know how fragile life can be. 💜 We just lost a good friend yesterday. We saw him at Christmas and he said he thought he might have COPD as he has a bad cough and was having trouble breathing. He went to Dr on 1/2/24, found out he had lung cancer, and started chemo. He did 2 treatments and his body failed him and he passed. I'm so grateful we were able to spend time with him but it goes to show that you never know... sending you love and hugs for your puppies 💜

I so agree with you. We lost my brother in law suddenly in Oct. 2020. My sister had gone out to pick up some food for dinner, talked to him on the phone & a couple of minutes later she got home & he had collapsed. He was just a year older than me. Then, our niece was found in her apartment in August 2021. She was a couple of years older than me. They have left huge holes in our lives. As I have gotten older, I've come to appreciate my relationships so much more & try to take the time to be with family as much as possible. My sister & I were always close, but we've become even closer since she lost her husband.

I finally called a friend that was my neighbor but moved. I think of her a lot but I don't miss her lol. when we do talk it's mostly about her. I have terminal liver cancer and just started treatment. I'm 75 and she's 87. she does ask me how I feel but then goes back to how much she hates assisted living and her family for putting her there. for the 96th time. as I said, I don't miss her lol.

You are a stunner. When I see women like you go through what you went through it encourages me majorly. I know women, all walks of life, are so beautiful in their own way. I don't post images of myself for vanity reasons, I do it because I'm seeing such a change that I want to share it with/shout it out to the world. I never thought I would ever lose this much weight much less feel this empowering!!!! So Year....., thank you for helping me see the future for myself. May the Lord bless you and keep you.
