Yes... you want to be at least 20 net carbs daily. If you wrap some bell pepper with som deli roast beef for a snack, you can bump up your net carb numbers a bit. How much veg are you getting??

I eat under 20 net carbs a day for the most part but have found I do best when I vary them. Most days I have much lower than 20 but will have one day of closer to 20 (usually a saturday or sunday), or heaven forbid, over 20. For me the weight is coming off at an acceptable rate and I feel great!

I read that if you want to lose 10 pounds then you eat 50-100 carbs BUT if you need to lose more then 10pounds then you need to stay between 20-50 carbs..so yes 8 is way to low. Good luck on your journey 🍀

Not for once in a while. Every day would likely mean not enough veggies but as an occasional day no worries.

Our bodies do not even require carbs... all carbs do is turn into glucose.. our bodies can make glucose out of protein... so 8 net carbs is fine.. some days I only consume 5 at most and that is just from vegetables.

Glad you asked the question I was wondering about that myself thanks.

What you should keep in mind is that any carbs that you do eat should only be from vegetables and non-starchy vegetables at that. A good rule of thumb, if it grows above ground, it is okay to eat.. 1-2 cups per day. If it grows underground like potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, and beets, then do not eat them. They contain a lot of sugar and starch which will keep you out of ketosis. Corn is not a vegetable, but a grain, so it should not be consumed either. Peas are higher in carbs so they should be limited. The only reason I see to consume any carbs is for the fiber benefit. I keep mine very limited. I don't eat any with breakfast unless it is avocados. They have 8 total carbs per half a small avocado, but 2 net carbs as 6 of those carbs are fiber. I save most of my vegetable consumption for the evening. 1-2 cups of garden veggies or a large salad. You should also note that tomatoes and onions are high in carbs and limit your intake of those as well. I would suggest you look online and re-read the induction phase of the Atkins diet and try to keep your carb intake as it describes for longer than just the first two weeks. For me, as a diabetic, I doubt I will ever be able to increase my carb intake above 20 again if I want to keep my BGL under control.

Too low? Depends on who you're trusting. Some say 0 carbs are ok. Others say no less than 70. And there are lots in-between that. Atkins original 1970s version was a zero carb diet. I think 8 carbs is just fine. You won't do that every day anyway, and at least you know that it's ok if you eat a few more.

Depends, if you are active you might up your carb intake. But listen to your body. I usually know if I need more carbs by how I feel. If I feel tired and lethargic and cranky, it means I need more carbs.
