Office grazing getting a little ooc (out of control). My goal today is to not touch anyone’s candy dish whether chocolate or hard candies or other sweets. 🚫🍭🍬🍫🚫
I go months sometimes doing this really well but as soon as it starts, it’s like a runaway train. 😆

that is tough!! Does it help if you bring in your own snack to snack on in place of reaching for their candy dish??

even if it's similar candy!! (let's be honest, a choice between an orange and a Reese's cup on a bad work day, who's going to win?😭🤣) if it is already logged in your food journal, that is at least more controlled then swiping into every dish from here to the door to escape.

I always failed with this. Though I'm not sure working from home is better since my pantry has more options 😂

It's like free drinks on every desk for an alcoholic -- unfairly hard to resist. Why do people do that to us!

erikahollister- that is absolutely true!! Ive used a similar analogy with my ex regarding binge eating disorder/sugar binges.

I am the same way. It is like I get the taste of sugar on my tongue and game over!

When I worked I made it a habit to not eat treats that were just sitting around at work. If I had a craving for something I bought it INTENTIONALLY and ate it at home where I could sit and actually enjoy it.

I find that when I eat sugar, I crave more sugar, but when I stop eating it, I stop craving it. But, I have to confess, when I was working, I kept a bowl of Dark Dove Chocolates on my desk. I was (amongst other duties, I worked for a small non-profit, wore many hats) the HR person and people were sometimes stressed and upset when they came in to talk to me. That bowl of chocolates had a soothing, de-escalating effect on most people, it gave them a moment to catch their breath and gather their thoughts.

I see I’m not alone! Lol ☺️ Yes, and I even have a candy dish on my desk full of chocolate but for some reason, that does not tempt me as much as goodies on other people’s desks. Just bad habits for me. Cleaning it up. 😇

During Covid and working from home I was able to do a reset: no more office grazing! My current boss keeps a bowl of chocolates on her desk but I’m no longer tempted, thank goodness. I eat fruit all morning long and it cures the sweet cravings.

Well, I survived the day. It truly is bad habits. I told my coworkers to slap my hand if they see me reaching while I’m standing at their desk. I do it without even thinking. ☺️ Maybe like a nervous habit while I talk or listen.
