Yearofhealth2023's Journal, 20 August 2023

Memorializing for myself. 1st pic 3 weeks post op of brachiaplasty and tummy tuck-136 pounds . 2nd pic about 2 months ago 142 pounds. 3rd pick sept-oct 2022 about 200 pounds. 4th pic 15 years ago 145 pounds. Last pick summer 2020 220+ pounds (didnt weigh those years). Last pick i was in my early 20’s 128-130 pounds. It’s been a journey. I am still struggling with the voices in my head that fixate on unhealthy food. True, even after all the work I’ve put in…all the decades i took good care of myself with hiccups here and there. You would think this surgery would rejuvenate me but i feel like I’ve completed the task i set for myself and now im concerned i may slip back into old behavior as I’ve been unable to workout, not in my normal routine for over a month now and not walking but hundreds of feet not miles and miles. This is a pictorial reminder to myself how easily i went from thin and fit to fat and not and how unwell i felt. I had low energy, prediabetic, high high high cholesterol. High blood pressure. Frequent migraines and weekly headaches. Need to wake up!!!!! Stay healthy!!!!!!! Remember how strong i felt when i first got to California. I know im just worn down from weeks of low sleep and pain but dont want to forget these feelings. The girl in the black tank looks so much healthier, happier and prettier than the girl in the boat (although my white boy loves me no matter what i look like💕). Ive got this. I have to.

please don't let yourself worry too much. I'm willing to bet that you are not the person you were emotionally in your 20s. You can decide to trust yourself not to fall backward into a pit. Everyone has off days but you know who you are. You are a person who cares about the relationship you have with your body. That matters. You can't un-know what you now know. 💙 sent with so much love. ps you look fantastic

You got this! You’re just tired from surgery but you’ll be able to maintain your new bod. You look great! (and beautiful in all the pics)

Not sure why but I only got the 1st 2 pictures. Regardless, the transformation is amazing! You look healthy and fit! The arms are amazing! As for working; out/ walking your normal amount, it will come. Just watch your WOE until then. Manage your foods, eat lots of vegetables and fruits. That will help, along with your protein. You are beautiful inside and out. Flaunt it baby!!!🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷

Does this mean you get to go home? Been filling your posts and story and progress since surgery and it looks like you are doing amazing minus the lack of sleep. I hope you are feeling much better and getting back to feeling normal! I think you look great but most important is how you feel about yourself! Thank you so much for sharing your amazing story and journey that continues 😁

You’re looking great! What a difference in the arms! You must be very pleased with the results, and it will get even better as the scars fade. Thanks for posting, and for sharing your journey with us! I don’t think you’ll ever allow yourself to go back to an unhealthy weight and lifestyle. You’ve put too much hard work into getting where you are today. Don’t allow your victory to be tarnished by the “what if’s” that are trying to push their way into your thoughts. I DO hope you’ll still continue to journal and allow us to continue alongside you as you get back home to some sense of normalcy. Don’t forget us. You’ve been an inspiration to so many, and we still need you in our lives.

You will be fine! I know the situation is totally different, but the 10 days I was on vacation, I ate more of the "fun" foods & drank more adult beverages. I didn't work out. The minute I got home, I was able to slide back into my routine. You did not go through all this pain to not follow through! Look in the mirror. You know what you need (and WANT) to do to continue being this person you've worked so hard to be. ❤️❤️

That batwing surgery makes such a difference, and I bet the thighs & tummy tuck did too (show off when you're ready, Gorgeous!). I hear the doubt about maintaining. However, you have activity habits to fall back on and rebuild up to, plus Hot Hubs as your support system and cheerleader. Many FS dieters have spouses that continue to unconsciously sabotage their partners with food and their own addictions, so please trust and embrace HH's support and love of exercise and healthy foods for both of you. 💚🤗

You can do this Year. The time, energy, effort, cost and pain of what you have done to get to this place cannot be scuttled. The odds are that once back home, you'll slip right back into the fitness and eating routine that makes you feel and look great. We have your back!

I know how you feel. Due to my own restrictions with lifting weights, I’m starting back today with upper body but almost feel lost. I hope when I grab some dumbbells later I remember what to do! 🤔🥲

you totally got this! Since eating is still la struggle, I recommend picking up that workbook I'm constantly bragging about for emotional eating "The Glow Approach by Dr Lyn Shroyer" it's packed with so much vital information and questions to answer about emotional eating! really helps keep your mind and body in check! 6 chapters so my motto has been "a chapter a days keeps chocolate bars away" lol 😆
