Hi everyone!

I hope you are all doing fine. I just want to share something so hear me out. I have been doing a lot of thinking these days and I came to the conclusion that if I think that eating another human being is unthinkable then eating vulneral cute animals is also cruel unthinkable action!

However, I don't know how I should start changing my eating habits... I've been looking into it on the internet but there is so many information that I got a little confused.

Anyway, it has been two years since I last ate red meat. I do prefer fish to meat but I have no need continue to eating those. So I was wondering if any of you could help me with this.

Lot of love for you guys!

Ps - I couldn't leave without sharing a quote "What is the purpose of life if not to make the world a better place?"

I used to be vegetarian, but gave it up a couple of years ago for a mixture of reasons. If you want to give up fish and poultry as well as red meat, you need to make sure that your diet still contains sufficient proteins, or amino acids from which your body can make the proteins you need. If you're still going to consume milk products and eggs, this isn't a problem. If you aren't going to have those things either, then you need to include other sources like beans, nuts or synthetic proteins made from soya or other vegetable sources. How easy it is to change your diet may depend partly on where you live. In some places it's easy to get vegetarian meals, burgers, sausages etc, all made with vegetable proteins. In other places those things are virtually unheard of, or laughed at. I'd recommend that if you want to do this, go and have a look in your local supermarket and see what's on offer there for vegetarians, and get yourself a good vegetarian cook-book, or you'll really struggle. One thing that I found is that it takes a bit more effort to make tasty vegetarian food, as it usually means combining a variety of ingredients, using herbs and spices if you like them, and probably making a nice sauce too. I hope you like a range of different vegetables! I'd say go easy on the beans and nuts to start with, and use cheese sometimes, as beans contain a lot of fibre, and can have interesting effects on your digestive system, beneficial effects mostly, but flatulence too, of course! Lastly be careful about things like nuts, seeds and dairy products, as they are high in fat and calories, which is not good if you are watching your weight. Some of the vegetarian ready-mades like sausages etc. are also high in fat and calories. Beans on the other hand are high in slow-release carbohydrates, and good at filling you up without being too fattening. Hope this helps!

I agree with everything heidij123 said, but would just like to add that a lot of vegetarians make a mistake by making pasta and similar carb-filled foods a substitute for meat. This is a sure-fire way to quickly gain excess weight.
