mattstoc's Journal, 26 May 2015

Well, I kind let it all go on Sun afternoon and Monday. I ate everything and anything. Potatoes (a bunch), candy, sonic blast with butterfingers, and hot dogs with buns. I didn't track it, record it, or even pay attention. I have no clue or interest in what it did to my weight. I weigh on Sat mornings, and will work the rest of the week to keep the impact to a minimum. Blood sugar was a little high this morning (No real surprise).

Ok confession over - time to get crackin.

I have a big week at work, I have a lot of exercise that I want to get in and some solid diet goals (more leafy green and protein).

Y'all have a great week.

A little detour never killed anyone Matt. As long as you get back on your planned route. You got this brother.

What counts is what you eat 80% of the time. What happened is just a blip on the radar. Get back on track and you won't notice it in a week. :)

Thanks for the support. While I not happy with myself, I can tell the break did my mental state some good. I am fired up about eating right and exercising. I had a great run last night. I use runkeeper to track my running (and other exercise). The app has built in training programs. I am working my way through a 16 week regiment to do a sub 65 minute 10k. Yesterday was 3 miles + some sprints. I feel great today. I am stunned that I now think a 3 mile run at 12 min/mile is a nice and easy pace and distance - effectively an easy workout. I forget how big a change that really is. I didn't think I would love this running as much as I do. I just hope my knees stay strong (it is tough when you are pushing 50).
