Had a weird experience at work. I went in and I was really hungry (more than usual). I still made myself wait until ten to eat breakfast (yogurt). I was at the copier machine (after breakfast) and felt really weak, like I was going to pass out. No question about it, I ate my snack--and not celery, but 110 calories of mini-pretzels. Ate lunch about an hour later and have been fine since. Half an hour before going home, a lady at work decided to clean her desk. We have to use certain things and this was strong. It took my breathe away, my lungs hurt and I got a drip. I'm sure it's non-toxic, but it was a bad feeling.

"Oh Jill, That is scary! At first I thought perhaps you were Carb. starved. Now it sounds like you might have inhaled something toxic!" You take care! Prayers for you! G.B.~Ann :)

Careful, listen to your body! Maybe waiting until 10 am is not what you should be doing. I know I wouldn't make it on work days. Be careful of chemicals they affect different people in different ways. ie: I had to get some sugar in my system the other day on my way home from work, was dizzy and I could tell my blood sugar had dropped too far, I run on the low edge of normal anyway. I bought a muffin in the Mexican bakery area of the store I was in and ate it in the parking lot, no way was I driving until I was OK>

I've found, with going to work at 8, that having soaked oats first thing in the morning really helps. Yes they're a starchy carb but they take quite a while to process. I usually try to get some protein in at the same time. I'm good until 11 and that ends up being my lunch most of the time. Try and avoid that cleaner in future. While non-toxic you could still have an allergy or intolerance to it.

Even if the cleaner wasn't toxic it could be that you're just sensitive to it. The used to use a cleaner on our floors at work, the scent and fumes would make my throat and sinus' raw. Didn't seem to bother anyone else, just me.

Exactly JMB. Pine scented cleaner tosses me straight into an asthma attack. I use primarily natural or unscented cleaners because I'm sensitive to the chemical fragrences that are used.

I have to "fill up the tank" in the morning on a consistent basis, or I pay the price later when my blood sugar is so low I grab ANYthing to bring it back up. I can't run on "Empty." You might have to see how it goes and keep something on hand if this occurs again. Take care...

Another thought: Your work must have a policy in place regarding chemicals they use. If they don't, they should, especially if you notify a supervisor of your symptoms. And maybe after letting it be known that it bothers you, they can wait until you're a distance away before using??? Taking your breathe away and have lungs hurting is not good, obviously.
