Today has been a much much better day. I think madaboutmoose was right with her comments about working towards a goal that has now come and gone and I think I have found another one which will help me. I've always wanted to go up in a hot air balloon but as yet I'm too heavy. My girls wanted to buy me a trip for Christmas last year, so I think I'll mention it for this year. I wouldn't be able to do it until next summer, so to lose another 40 odd pounds by then should be quite doable and once they have parted with their hard earned money I couldn't let them down. Lets hope this does the trick!

I've had a wander round the garden today and looked at all the effort OH has put into growing it all and tasted the gooseberries and raspberries which are ripening fast. The peas, broad beans. cabbage and broccoli and cauliflower are all ready for picking and looking at them has made me think about them in a much more positive light. I'm staying away from the shops as much as I can to keep from being tempted for a bit.

All I need to do now is start walking and swimming again. I've also made some enquiries about being a volunteer with Alzheimer Scotland and I'm going for a chat tomorrow. They are looking for someone to make 'life books' for the patients so hopefully that will be interesting. In the past as part of my college life, I went into an engineering factory that was closing down and teased CVs out of men who had been there most of their working life, rising through the ranks but having no formal qualifications. Some of the things they had done were amazing. One chap had carved all the wooden horses on a roundabout and another knitted really complicated multicoloured jumpers. I hope the 'life books are as good'

Oh so good to read your entry today!!! YES!!! My thoughts are with you are you continue the process of rediscovering the REAL you. The you who wants to be healthy and feel good and be able to move around in your world with ease! You, know ... I have plans to visit Scotland someday ... and when I do I plan on seeng the svelte, trim, and healthy YOU!!! It's the Cameron in me ... very stubborn you know!!
