The first night home in my own bed is great! It's great not to be prodded or disturbed during a sleep period. I did not get a full 8 hours but I tore the hell out of a six hour time slot where I wasn't disturbed.
The wounds from surgery are becoming a smaller focus of my day-to day attention. They are healing and the drain bag is still a pinkish ugle coagulated mess but it's even getting easier to clean up. All in all and a giant weight drop--YES, it was a good decision.
