These are the pine cones from a giant Sequoia. About the size of a golf ball and as solid as a rock. They only release their seeds in the face of fire then they just explode sounding like popcorn.

I have lots of pine cones I collect from the trees in local parks and around my house. I use them to decorate at Christmas— some are sooo very beautiful, like unusual colorings that I just leave them up all year because I like to see them and then there is the fact that I’m not Into home decor. I just keep “stuff” around that I like to look at. Just a tad eclectic .
