puffin902's Journal, 08 June 2009

Well, I debated continuing to record my food. There are good points both for an against. For me, the deciding factor was the "I'm not on a diet, I'm on a new way of eating" idea. In order for any system to work for me, it has to be sustainable. I feel that South Beach is sustainable for the long haul. But recording all my food makes it feel like it might not be (if that makes sense). I recorded for the first 5 weeks because the nutritionist wanted me to since I was also working on knowing what a "portion" was (a very valuable lesson). Now, it's really up to me.

I may record in the future if I run into problems but at this point, I'm backing off. I may also still measure new things in my diet and things I'm likely to over indulge in. Georgia

sounds like something to try out and see if it works for you...if not there is nothing saying that you cannot go back to recording as necessary...great job so far
