Okay only south beach appropriate food today but no legumes as I bring up my fiber consumption slowly. Hopefully, I won't end up doubled over again. The antibiotics are finished tomorrow. Georgia

great plan of attack...lol...you will get back to it...and with this woe - there is nothing that says you cannot modify your approach to staying healthy if the colon needs it...hang in there

Overall, South Beach will be wonderful. High fiber is better for things. People keep asking if South Beach caused my problems. I hate for that thought to be out there. It's more likely that the cholesterol med (welchol) that I'm on is the problem. I'm off it now and I'm not adding it back in for at least another month. An attack of diverticulitis doesn't blossom overnight. I was having issues back last September and upping my fiber again helped. This time was just a bit more complicated! Georgia

i know sb is not responsible - my aunt has been on sb for 5 years and has diverticulitis and hers is to the point if she has one more flare up they are going to insist on surgery...her main problems come from red meat...lol...she modifies her protein intake so that instead of meat she eats other sources...that is what i meant by adjusting to fit your needs...lol
