puffin902's Journal, 03 May 2009

I've had 3 times in my life where I got on top of this weight thing. First, when I was pregnant--I'm one of the few women out there who came out of pregnancy down 25 lbs the first time and 35 lbs the second time. Of course, I was overweight when I got pregnant both times and the weight loss didn't stick. I just found it easy to eat right then. Then I did CAD (carb addicts) and lost a bunch of weight and kept it off for 3 years. Then when I figured out how to include walking back in my life inspite of having chronic illnesses, I naturally lost 35 lbs (which I gained back when I injured myself and had to cut way back on the walking for almost a year).

A 3 times had this in common--eating right was easy. I didn't crave bad stuff and things fell into place. That's one of the reasons I have high hopes for South Beach. The cravings are way down and I'm feeling better.

Peace, Georgia

I have total faith in you! You sound like me in the past...I was always able to get fit or stay in shape when my babys health counted on it. I had gestational diabetes and I adhered to one the most strict diets I ever had up to that point. Easy peasy! With nothing "riding" on it though, I couldn't figure out what I had to do or how to stick to it. You have such a great grasps of what you need to do and how to do it now. You also know you have many reasons to stick to it. You know how bad yo-yo'ing can be for our bodies. So girl...you apply what you know to YOU because you know now that NOTHING can stop you from wanting a better, healthier YOU! Go get 'em! And remember, "nothing taste as good as thin feels" NOTHING! ;-)
