Soooo I'm joining for the first time today. I started my journey back on January 24, 2011 and have since lost 10lbs but now I am at a standstill. I joined a gym and have been doing Hot Yoga, treadmill, step classes, body jam (dancing), and some body combat (fight-styled work out) but nothing is happening. They have wonderful staff that is encouraging and knowledgeable and I have gotten some really good information from them about workout options and nutrition. However, I'm getting somewhat frustrated. I've been keeping a food diary since February 28th and I have signed up to complete a 5K walk on the March 26th but I thought I'd be further along in my weight loss by the time the walk came up.

I'm still sticking to the gym routine. I'm there at least 3 days a week. I'd like to do 5 days but that never seems to happen for me. I can stick to my diet when I'm working but weekends are rough. I forget to keep my journal, forget to take vitamins, and just don't seem to make it to the gym at all.

So fatsecret.com is my alternative. I need to have somewhere, some people to be accountable to who are going to watch what I'm doing and call me on it. That's the motivation I need. Without paying for it every week/month.

So I begin. My first goal is to get under 300lbs. Then to 250 and so on. My goals are in 50lbs increments. For however long it takes, until I get to a weight that impresses me in the mirror. So if I get to 225lbs and I think it looks good on me, I will feel like I was successful in my weight loss journey.

I read somewhere weight loss is about 80% diet and 20% exercise. So getting the weekends under control will help. I know how hard they are when everyone is eating all kinds of stuff. But you can do it. Great job on the exercise.
