168 Intermittent Fasting

In the middle of the pandemic, unable to run or do any exercise for over a year plus eating freely end up gaining over 30 lbs.

Went up to 206 lbs in March 2021, decided to try some new, the “168 Intermittent Fasting” and see if it helps. I started casually just restricting the eating hours between noon and 8 pm daily (2 meals, lunch and dinner, normal food). Fasting during the remaining 16 hours with just water, tea or black coffee (Not to break the fast). I did not expect much but to my surprise, I lost almost 6 lbs after the first 2 weeks.

I then started to pay more attention to what I eat, cut down on carbs (under 100g daily) but not down to a Keto diet level (too extreme for me). Daily total calories intake kept at around 1200 kcal. I a bit felt hungry during the first few days but got used to the diet and eating schedule quickly.

It is almost 4 months since I started this intermittent fasting and I am back at 170 lbs (lost 36 lbs) with ZERO exercise. I also found that my BP, blood sugar level and body fat % are down to a very healthy level. Will keep doing it for a couple of months.

I have always been the chubby type and have tried many types of weight lost regimes. Diets and exercises always worked for me but requires great effort and perseverance. I found that this "168 Intermittent Fasting" is very easy to follow, less stressful and lose weight quickly.
170.5 lb Lost so far: 14.5 lb.    Still to go: 5.5 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
