erwinwarrior83's Journal, 10 March 2014

I always love to visit my parents, but it's hard to pass up her good cooking. I ate moderately but still went over points just a bit (but not my RDI). Made the healthiest choices I could and cut back earlier in the day. My only splurge was a 1/2 cup of mashed potatoes and a homemade biscuit.

Thankfully I did my circuit at Curves this morning and also came back and walked the track owned by the city - 4 times around as fast as I could then one trip around to cool down. I've got to find out how far around it is to calculate my mileage. It's the old high school track and they gave it to the city when they built a new school.

Back to work for a busy day tomorrow including my mall walk; next time to Curves will be Thursday morning. Hope everyone is having a great day !!!!

They are proud of me and what I've accomplished, and how hard it's been.

Great job! With all the exercise I am sure you compensated for the splurge. I am lucky in that respect, my mother is a horrible cook and I try not to eat when I visit.

I think it's a 1/4 mile track, I looked at it on Google Earth. The city person I called has NO idea (that's not good); someone else told me it is a 1/12 mile track, which makes no sense. If it was, it would not have gone around the football field. I'll try the HS and see if anyone can tell me, since they don't own it anymore. I'll also try the new app I loaded to my phone called STEP COUNT - going to go walk it this evening after work.

Okay... I'm probably wrong. No, I know I'm wrong. Thinking of how far a mile is. DUH. Sorry for the misinformation.

You are not alone sneaking goodies, especially when they are made with love. FYI - Since I work for a construction company I can tell you that a standard HS running track is 400 meters. You'll have to do the rest of the math yourself!

That Step Count app I used was WORTHLESS. It registered 0.116 miles after I walked the track SIX times. I uninstalled it and will be looking for something else until I can get my Fitbit. I asked some other people walking and running the track last night about its size, and it is a 1/4 mile track like I thought. So training for the 5K (3.1 miles) I want to walk next month will be 12 times around for 3 miles plus another half for the .1 mile = 3.1 miles. I did 5 around yesterday at a fast clip and another one for a cool down.
