BuffyBear's Journal, 04 January 2014

DH took me out to lunch at Longhorn Steakhouse. I started off strong by not eating any bread, but then accidentally ordered the breaded shrimp appetizer. So there is an extra 500 calories, plus untold damage from the breading and mystery grease.

On a positive note, my book "The Calorie Myth" finally arrived. Can't wait to get started reading.

Love the Longhorn Steakhouse! We had one where I used to live. My books arrived too. I just stopped reding in the Set Point Chapter. I like how he explains things so I can understand them better. I read this when I used my elliptical. LOL!

It was good but wish I'd had the discipline to have declined. Could almost feel my low density LDL climb, along with a visual of my doctor writing out a prescription for Crestor. Self control was never one of my strong suits.

Mom - great strategy! If I can't get into it tonight I'll have plenty of free time tomorrow.

Don't be too hard on yourself. I know how you feel! Maybe a good idea would be to take an extra walk to make yourself feel a little better and to burn some of the calories off. You're doing great. You still have to live life and pat yourself on the back for how well you are doing!

You are on a fast Buffy so let yourself relax. That extra amount means nothing now as you skipped one meal already today. :)

Mom - I should be skipping dinner as well - but probably won't - LOL

You're right...when it becomes our life, there is no other option. Just forgive the "accident", keep more alert & move forward.

myawethinTICelf - thanks - I love the expression - "life happens"

Definitely life happens. Don't worry about one meal. It will balance out over a week Was bad yesterday with my girls and grandkids here. Ate part of a cupcake with oodles of dark chocolate curls on top a few chips and a few beers. A rare day. Not to worry back to my eating plan today.

;) every day ....& it will be of our making. Isnt that a nice thought? The reason I chose the photo for my new challenge Blast the Fat is because I know its true :D....life is a choice & our way of life is our choice.

I think it is something to ponder on ... if we choose to eat off plan, just remember that it will take one whole week to "even out again" as wholefoodnut says. Make sure it is worth it. A nice dinner out with your DH was definitely worth it, Buff, since he is gone most of the time. Enjoy life. Stay positive. We move on.

I agree also, 1 "off day" will not harm all the good we do thru-out a week. It just takes time to level itself again. And certainly, there are times in life that making the choice to "go off" is worth it....we must enjoy what we do if we plan to continue doing it! Either way,the choice is ours! I for one like knowing that. :D It means *Im* in control.
