Ate kettle chips and dark chocolate almonds today. So, not too surprised to see my weight up this afternoon...oh well. My period is approaching and I didn't overcome my cravings. Will have chicken and veggies for dinner to balance out the sugar.

I ran 3.5 miles and took my first spin class yesterday and my goodness it's tough on the butt! It wasn't planned to workout twice, but my husband wanted to try a spin class, so I went with him to encourage his decision to get into shape this year. Yeah, I don't think spin is for us because of the ass pain, but it certainly does make you sweat! I prefer to run anyway and he's going to find a personal trainer to get him started.

Reading your journal sounds like your "weight gain" today is most likely fluid carried in your muscles from your training yesterday. After I do a little more than normal or get DOMs I'll carry some extra water. That's good, yo! Eating a couple chips and dark almonds didn't immediately make you heavier, that's your conscience. Enjoy your PMS and indulge here and there. When the red-haired aunt is gone, you'll be back in the game. (my unsolicited advice, there for ya) ;) I don't know a single girl that doesn't eat a treat for Beast Week, and if I did, I'd stay far away from her!

Yes, working out can cause water retention. Salty foods can cause water retention. Bloating right before your period can cause water retention, lol! Make sure you weigh the same time, same clothes, same everything for the most accurate gauge of weight loss. If you weigh yourself all day, you will weigh something different all day too. All the food we eat and drink all day makes a difference. Google "why the scale lies" for insight in to water weight fluctuation.

Thanks ladies for your comments...all very valid and true! Yeah, the chips and chocolate wouldn't have caused a true weight gain, but I certainly didn't help myself either. However, I always do forget that after a hard workout you do retain water.

Ah, Kettle Chips - can't remember the last time I had those - I miss them too - esp the vinegar ones. Hmm. I did have a dark choco godiva truffle last nite - and was amazed I didn't have more. I think the Kettle chips would have sent me back to the chocobag tho - love that salt & sweet combo. I keep thinking about getting a 3 wheel bike for Mushy and me - but I'll want one with a seat almost as big as (mine) to avoid that 'pain' too.

They are way too moreish! I was enjoying the sweet chili and sour cream variety - yum! I put some in a small bowl, so I knew how much I was throwing back, so I was in "control"...yeah whatever. Lol. You should totally get that bike for you and Mushy. That would be nice to go for a ride when the days warm up. Take care Bells...I hope you're doing alright today as I haven't read your Saturday journal yet.
