Well, the judge basically told me that she would most likely be denying the appeal. She then said to immediately submit another desk audit for the high position. The wording on the supervisor part of the position does not match me. (The higher position has a “softer” supervisor description. That is a quote.) She could only decide between the job I requested and the job the committee recommended. Stupid state government! So instead of her just overwriting what the board said, I have to reapply all over with a different position title. It took 10 months to get this far!!!! 10 Months!!!! The guy there did not argue about any of the points I submitted, what so ever. You could see that he did not think I got the job I deserved. It was so freaky though! I was under oath, all documents were Exhibit 1, 2 etc. It was very formal and scary. I find out the results in less than 20 days. I am going to start working on the higher position desk audit right now, that way I can submit it right away when I receive the verdict.

The crazy part, Glen, is that the position descriptions are all over 20 years old. How are they even relevant anymore!!!!????

I work for state government too and my boss actually submitted for my position to be reclassified because it didn't fit the description, but instead of reclassifying me and giving me a raise, they changed the position description. Nice. So frustrating! I feel for you and hope that this gets resolved quickly.

How ridiculous - sorry you're going through all of this - hope the judge can either find in your favor or the next audit works out (and goes through faster!!)
