Good evening, just returned from a wedding. The weekend was full of great time with family, the start of another chapter in our whole extended family, and plenty of food. What is it that people tend to do when they gather for visiting and fun? They add food and drink. Now although we are not all tea totalers, we generally drink diet soda, which even on a good day is not that bad for you, but why oh why do we add food. A question I am sure is familiar to many of us here.

So tomorrow is another day and the start of a great new week. I wonder if I can be the one to break the chain and eliminate the snack foods. Will have to see, you know we have Thanksgiving cominng up. Tomorrow I hope will be a good food plan day, that is my plan, but I have learned at the age of 60+ to roll with the punches and do the best I can.

On the subject of diet soda, I have been reading some disturbing facts that indicate it may not be all that great for us. I did go 10 days without any soda at all, I think it is worth trying that again. Ten days was probably not good enough for a real trial period and the holidays may not be the best time to try something new, but then again, since I am soooooo very busy with sewing projects for Christmas gifts, maybe I would not notice the change. Have to think about that a day or two and also finish the 2 bottles of soda I have on hand.

What do I know? That depends on the subject. But when it comes to "dieting" (I dislike the term "diet") I really know a lot, about what to do and what not to do. It is, though, an ever evolving issue, with new ideas being thrown into the mix all the time. But, I do know what works for me and it is time to get back to that basic formula. I CAN and WILL DO this. Starting right now, this very day and this very moment, it is back to basics.

I hope you all have a great start to your week. I may bore you all this week with posts on getting back to basics. Take care!!!!
