Boy, what a difference it makes when you start taking the right vitamins! I've been feeling pretty good this week, so far, have made it to the gym, have dropped 3 of the 'nasty' pounds I gained over the weekend, have cut my caffeine intake to almost zero, and have cut my sweets consumption down to once a day. I finally decided to work with allowing myself 1 type of 'sweets' a day. I have terrible cravings for chocolate chip cookies and notice I get the craving right after lunch, almost every day. So, I've been trying to use my fiber one bar as my treat but if not, then I will allow myself 1 to 2 chocolate chip cookies. I did get myself some s/f dark chocolates per BullyT's suggestion but I tend to forget I have them. LOL
Anyway, feeling rather positive today. Gonna work on my water intake. I have a seminar to go to later today so will try to be careful about the kind of coffee I drink. Hopefully, they'll have decaff. ;0)

good deal! I just read an article that said if you ARE going to permit yourself a treat like that, to "schedule" it in. That way if you get tempted earlier in the day, you can push the thought away knowing that you WILL be able to have your goody, just at the time you scheduled it. I hope that works for you and maybe after a while you'll have enough confidence to trade that treat for something SLIGHTLY less naughty. Baby steps, Great strides!!! Bravo!

LOL Okay, listen... to meeeeeee.... do NOTTTTT FORGETTTTT about the sf chocolate!!!! Sometimes I even have TWO! They will really help you! =D I gotta get my water in today, too. I've got "some of my nasty weekend lbs" off, but much more to go. =S

P.S. By schedule it in...they mean to know ahead of time each day, when you will allow it and do not change it once you set it. You can so do this! See, you could write that article!

ImLuuvd! That's a great idea! Knowing ahead of time that you have your 'sweets time' scheduled for a certain time of day gives you the opportunity to pass up on other sweets should they be offered or the craving arises. You can tell yourself 'no, it's not time yet...' and even have that time to look forward to. Then, later in the day (after you've already had your sweets) you can tell yourself "I already had my treat for the day..." and be satisfied. There's something about not being able to have it that makes me want it worse than if I know I can have it. Maybe it's setting the boundary and being able to stay within that boundary that helps. Eventually, I'd like to get rid of the need to have the sweets but for now, once a day is SO MUCH BETTER than a free for all, like I had been having. BullyT...the s/f chocs just aren't the same as the chocolate chip cookies. LOL I'm trying, though. Not to mention, I still have issues with artificial sweeteners. For some reason I'd rather have the real thing (sugar) as opposed to the artificial. Wish they would make chocolate with xylitol! Maybe we should create our own chocolate line! lol

ok...heres my 2 cents worth...if you get your cravings at the same time every day...you are doing or eating something repitive that is triggering the craving...so switch up what you are eating for breakfast and lunch or even just change the time of the day...as far as sugar goes...i have finally come to find xylitol...it tastes just like sugar and you use a lot less...email me if you want

Make your OWN cookies with Xylitol and only bring ONE with you each day and keep the rest in the freezer. Then, warm it up in the microwave to enjoy once a day. =D

*Use the mini choc chips, as you'll use less. ;)

DUH! I SHOULD just make my own chocolate chip cookies with xylitol! Don't know why I didn't think of that before. It's the chewy choc. chip cookies that I crave. I'll have to see what I can do about finding a recipe! =)

I'd just use any recipe or google low sugar choc chip cookies :)

if you make your own...use the splenda brown sugar or make your own brown sugar...

If it were not for you wanting a cookie specifically, I would have suggested using M&M chocolate kisses. You could pre-bag them in sandwich size baggies and have your hubby hide them from you (like my hubby hides my nuts for me).. one bag a day with 6 Hershey kisses in it. The real stuff. 6 milk chocolate Hershey kisses equals 153 calories. The almond and truffle kisses= 140 calories, the special dark kisses are good for you and six only have 120 calories , 6 peanut butter kisses equal 154 calories. Eventually you may find a way to get over the choclate cookie addiction like you did the caffine addiction...baby steps will get you there. You're really doing great at finding solutions and working things out
