Yesterday was the first time I've gotten a good workout in quite a while. It felt so good to be back at the gym! I did 25 minutes on the elliptical, and 15 minutes jogging on the treadmill. It was a short workout, that's for sure, but my shoulder has been killing me, so I couldn't really work the upper body like I would have liked to.
One of the reasons I had stopped feeling motivated to work out was because of my stomach. I would feel like I needed to hurl right after my exercise...even if it was just a short workout! Yesterday, I had some Peanut Butter on wheat toast, and I felt much better...I'm going to have to figure out something with fewer carbs to have as my pre exercise snack...any suggestions?

Yay! for getting back to the gym :) I investigated what to eat before my runs to help with energy and the advice I found was to "eat something light and carby". So I don't think you were off track eating toast with peanut butter. You might try a small bowl of high fibre cereal or a piece of fruit and a small yogurt. Whatever you choose, good luck keeping it up :) You can do it!

I find that a high protein snack an hour before my workout is best. Make sure you have time to digest before you start. I usually eat some kind of cheese, some nuts or a small serving of fruit (1/2 apple or banana) with unsweetened nut butter. I have missed workouts because of a bum shoulder too, lately. I don't even know how I hurt it.
