Sibby's Journal, 27 July 2008

Wow...it's been a while since I've written in my journal here. Maybe because I haven't been do SO well on my diet plan. I find it SO hard to stick to it everyday. Summer is tuff for me to stay on track...all the bbq's, pot lucks, beverages that aren't "hip friendly"...whew...I'm going to have to add 2 lbs on my chart over there and I DON'T LIKE IT!! Maybe that will help me get going again??? Aurghhhhh!!!!
Anywho...On a 'non-diet' subject...we attended my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary party today. Can you imagine 50 years!! WOW! Remarkable I say! We're going on 18 years here and to be honest it seems like only 5! Time goes so fast! I hope me and my hon can make it to 50 ;o)!!!
Gotta tell ya another reason (I think) I've gained a bit in the 'poundage' area....I HAVE A TEEN DRIVER NOW!!!! He is a wonderful driver (MUCH better than I) but makes me wanna puke a bit when I see him drive off by himself. I told him don't drive faster than his guardian angel can fly :o)
I better run here....take care all. Huge hugs to y'all!! I KNOW you all can do better than I on your respective 'life changing habits' we like to call diets. :o)
Now, get out there and make tomorrow even a better day!!! SMILES!

Two pounds isn't too bad after all the good summer food you have had. I'm sure you will get back on track and work it off! Congrats to your in-laws for 50 years of wedded bliss :) That's quite an achievement! I remember when my daughter started driving. I felt EXACTLY the same way as you do now! Take comfort in the fact that you know that he is a good driver and try not to worry. And do what I do. Whenever he heads out the door say "Be careful driving!" I always stressed to my daughter that she not only has to be careful driving, but she must always be aware of what the OTHER drivers are doing also......even if she has the right of way! Have a good day, Hon! (((HUGS)))

Hey Sibby! You have done a wonderful job of maintaining your weight. I would say staying within two pounds of your goal is WONDERFUL, especially like you said through the summer! I understand about your child being able to drive........I am just starting to stree about my twins (my youngest children) starting school here is a few weeks!!! Oh I'm so nervous to have a quite house, I don't think I am ready :0( But I take comfort in the fact that they ARE ready, and I am excited for them. Anyway, sorry to get off track, you are doing super and I know you will pick right back off where you left off...........now I just wish I could do the same after our vacation ahahha! I am having a hard time getting back to the drawing board here too. Lets do it together ok :0) Take care ~k~

I agree that you're doing a wonderful job of maintaining! :o) Really 2lbs is nothing... it's when 2 becomes 4, then 6 and keeps going up that it becomes a problem! I know it's hard to stick with when you've got so many things going on and I know hitting goal, I find myself sneaking more treats than I should sometimes!! Aw, hope you had a lovely time at your in-laws 50th Wedding Anniversary Party -- that's fabulous eh, but time does fly doesn't it and seems to just get faster as we get older... scary eh. Loved your "Don't drive faster than his guardian angel can fly"... for your son -- I haven't quite got to that stage for my own teenager yet. But they are forever a worry though aren't they when you know they are out in the big wide world on their own. At least you know he is a careful driver and I'll remember that one mbhpro about taking note of what other drivers are doing. That's a good one, as often it's not what we do, it's what other idiots on the road do! You just keep up the great work though Sibby, as you really are doing great!! ;o)
