Weight this morning: 157.8

Thus, dropped another pound, despite not working out over the last 2.5 days--possibly because of the relatively lower points' day yesterday and all the workout earlier in the week). Also, the high-pts Saturday followed by the low-point Sunday must have helped too.

Also, TOM arrived today, so I suppose I'll be up again--but I'm really going to step up the workouts and hopefully that'll prevent any bloating or gain.

Exercise: 130 mins today!! Two workouts:
Morning one: (at 8 am): 70 mins total (30 mins on elliptical and 20 mins bike, and another 20 free weights)

Evening one: 30 mins DVD (3 segments of 10 mins each: 10-min Pilates abs, 10 mns buns and thigh, and 10 mins toning). 10 mins Perfect Abs roller (25 reps of crunches times 3 positions). 10 mins free weights (biceps and lateral raises). Another 5-10 mins of resistance bands.

Meals and Points: Well under control, and with a good variety.
Breakfast: Egg white omelette with portobellos, spinach, bell pepper, dash of olive oil, goat cheese, crushed almonds, fresh basil (total 3 pts)
coffee with soy cream (1)
Almonds half serving (3)

Lunch: Shirataki noodles (0 pts) fetuchini alfredo pasta: 2 tbs of ff sour cream, 2 tbs ff cream cheeese, 1 tsp parmesan--total 3 pts), with a side of Sauteed portobellos in chopped garlic, 1 sundried tomato slice, fresh basil, with olive oil (1), with a coulis of pesto (0.5), with some sprinkled almond bits (pts included above). [This pasta is a good discovery at 0 carbs, and 0 pts!! And costs less than 2 dollars!!! I'm including the picture below to give you an idea of what it looks like] The smell is a little fishy, and the texture is a little chewy, but it works if you dress it up well.

Snack: 1 kiwi (1)
2nd cup of coffee with milk with 1 piece of chocolate (1.5)
2 ricecakes (2)
peanuts (2)

Dinner: 1 veggie burger (2), with a spinach salad with tomatoes, olive oil (0.5), and fat free feta (0.5)

Points: 21 or 22

0-pt pasta (total 4.5 pts with all other ingredients added)

mmmmmm... your lunch looks fantastic! Did you make up that combination or do you have a recipe? I like the Shirataki noodles, too, but haven't used them in awhile. Congratulations on the lost pound!

P.S. I'm up for your new challenge but I don't know what is going to define getting up "early" for me since school is out and I don't have to get up to make daughter's lunch anymore. I haven't had enough time to set a protocol on the new time frame yet. I might still get up with hubby but then he is also gone on business trips here and there. I am kind of without a set schedule at the moment! Perhaps it should be a set time frame after waking up. Like, complete a workout within 2 hours of waking up. How does that sound?

AMRYK, I started with the little recipe on the cover, but kept improvising until I liked the taste. Initially, it seemed too bland going according to what the recipe called for (fat free sour cream, fat free cream cheese, and parmesan), so then I added pesto and fresh basil, and then sauteed up the mushrooms for added flavour, and threw in the sundried tomato....so, that's pretty much it---keep changing until the head thinks it's the "real thing", but without the added carbs or calories!! Evelyn: the challenge sounds good. Let's go with the idea you propose, with one further criterion to START the workout as soon after waking up as possible, say within 30 mins? So we don't end up getting side-tracked by something else and then procrastinating on the workout.

Today, a slight typing errror in my journal--they are spelled SHIRATAKI..just google it and lots of stuff, including recipes, will pop up. These noodles are made from a root of a plant, and hence actually have fiber in it, and no carbs...here's more: The root they contain is called Glucomann, and "There is some evidence that glucomannan, when tested as a powdered supplement, can play a role in blood sugar control, as well as improve cholesterol control and weight loss. It also contributes to fiber intake, and can be a substitute for starchy noodles". P.S: They should be available in Whole Foods store, if you have one, some health food stores, and some japanese food stores
