mattstoc's Journal, 30 August 2019

I am back. I had lost a lot of weight about 4 years ago. I did that through logging my food (and as a result eating better) and exercise. I reached my goal, I was done; truth is you are never "done". I stopped logging food and then slowly stopped exercising. I gained all the weight back over a 2 year period.

I am going to try doing journal entries as well. My hope is the confessional of the journal will help keep me on track.

All have a great day.

So happy that you are back and that you are going back to journaling It has been my favorite way to keep track of my meals one at a time !!! Success is much easier when I do this and remember patience is the best way to achieve your goals 😊

I did the same thing except it only took me about a year to gain it all back! We can do it again! The logging of food really helps me.

Welcome to the 'been there, done that' club. I think the only way for me to stay honest is to stay here.

Another member of the "Back to the Future Club" here! Mattstoc, the logging and journal-keeping help me, too. Best wishes on this leg of the journey! You're 15 years younger than I. Don't waste those "15 years" to retirement age. I guarantee that you'll look back and be handsomely rewarded for your discipline and determination.

Welcome back Matt, the other day was my last visit with my Dietitian and I realized that I no longer had to write everything down and log it here. I smiled alll the way home. But when dinner time came around... I'm a goof nut... I logged everything on paper and here 🤪😂 I'm afraid to stop just for that reason lol and I've worked too hard to get me here so I will forever continue to log til my fingers can't write and my eye's can't see. 🙃 Again welcome back!!!

I've "come back" more than once since my initial introduction to FS. Although, it's only in the about 30 lbs. range give or take I seem to gain & lose it's the same struggle to maintain as someone who weighs more. I seem to "see the light" when the scale starts climbing closer to the 200 lb. mark. Even when my journal was private just logging everything kept me accountable. I have stopped logging in after I've met my goal several times cause let's face it, it can be a pain.

But, maybe it should be worth it to deal with that "pain" if it keeps me accountable. Matt, good luck in getting healthy and following your plan!

By logging in AFTER you loose the weight, you encourage the rest of us to stick with it and gain encouragement for you to stay the course too. Keep Logging!!
