It's Deadlift day!!
So I showed up as soon as the doors opened lol but the gym was full today! The squat rack I wanted to use and of course the smith machine was occupied the whole time I was at the gym. I guess everyone is still trying to work off 4th of July :P
I did half my warm up at home, had my pre-shake at home so I just spent 10 minutes warming up at the gym.
I decided to stick with the easy barbells (some are straight bared).
Sumo Romanian and Romanian style: 1 set 5 50#; 2 set 5 70#
Sumo deads 3 sets 3 80#
Bent over rows 20 reps 20#, 2 sets 10 40#
Bent over rows 2 sets 5 50#, and 2 sets 6 reps with 3 second lower phase 50#
Cable rows (small v bar) 2 sets 10 40#, 10 reps 50#
Foam roll & lying leg lift 10 reps each side
Hip bridge, feet on roll; 10 reps, hip bridge 10 second hold
Incline crunches: 50
Wow was I exhausted! That was the most fatigued I've been in a while.
I came home and made a big breakfast 😍 I'd love a nap but I've got to shower and go to work. This should be fun 😅

It worked you 'shamed me' into going to the gym! 😜 The Smith machine was also 'unavailable' but I got on the squat stand by jumping on as soon as a guy was finished, so I was able to do my squats and deadlifts.

Thanks guys! 💪💪 I am feeling the burn already! My hammies and lower lats are hurting 😅😅😅 Worth the pain 👍👍 I didn’t eat great the whole day but not too bad. I had more cake 😘 I joke that that is the reason I lift weights: so I can eat cake lolololol It’s definitely kinda true 😜

Once I can lift the 80# bar for a sets of 10 reps I will have no choice but to wait in line to use the squat rack. Maybe by then I’ll buy a bar 😄

We need to discuss what a big breakfast is though ;). Those eggs look like half my breakfast for dinner meals. Cake isn’t my thing but I ❤️ bananas! Is that broccoli in the eggs?

Thanks Srossca! Peeper I thought it was kind of a big plate but I ended up being hungry soon after. I ate a cupcake and some mini chocolates lol It was 2 extra large eggs, 1 1/2 servings of cheese and 60g broccoli. Next time I will plan to eat another small meal soon after the post breaky so I don’t just eat junk

Also my whole body hurts 🤣🤣 from my traps to my abs to my hamstrings! I haven’t had sore upper abs in soooo long! I think those bent rows really worked them! 🙌 or it could have been all the bracing. Which I don’t think I do well 😕 I usually end up releasing my breath at the top of the pull.

Great workout and great post-workout meal. I've been sticking with dextrose-based carbs but the cake is a great idea! :)

Rosangle I really like this protein powder! It doesn’t bother my stomach at all. Sometimes other protein shake do. McCarthy, Chris was the inspiration for my meal idea 😄😄 I read a little about the type of carbs you should eat and dextrose is in most sweets so I think I got that covered too 👍

Bent over rows target the upper back - like between the shoulder blades... you do hold the abs for balance but...I agree with Chris - crunches will do it
