Yesterday's entry:
Gained two pounds overnight from the beer and hummus...I know it'll come off soon, but am afraid there's going to be three more days of straight drinking!
Workout: 30 mins treadmill (on level 4, 220k or so) Meals: Eggwhite omelette with veggies and feta (4) coffee with soy milk (1) Before going out: Tofu sauteed in ginger, portabello, spinach, and basil, (2) At the bar: 1 hummus (5) with flat bread/pita (4), 3 beers (6-9)
total: 22-25 (so within my points)
Late night munchie-attack (presumably due to the drinks): Reduced fat peanut butter (4) with celery
Overall analysis: Despite the earlier angst in the day, I was able to redeem things towards the latter part. Went and worked out well (didn't get time to go for an additional walk or do weights), drank enough water, ate light earlier in the day and also chose protein and veggies to pace for going out drinking later.
I was meeting an old friend for A drink at a great local microbrewery where they specialize in beer, and one drink turned to two (although she had more than me!), and I did ok to not order all the delectable-sounding appetizers includind breaded mushrooms (my favorite). We were hanging out some more later at her place, so I had one more beer then (so three in total).
I tried to drink enough water, but somehow I still got the munchie- attack after arriving at home (about 1.30 am or so), and so besides the beer, the late-night peanut butter snack is probably what's causing my 2-pd gain today. It wouldn't be a big deal, except, a)today was the weigh-in, and b)for the next three days I am going away with friends for the long weekend, and we're going to be staying and partying on their boat for 3 days---so how could we not drink?!
Luckily, I'll be able to watch what I eat as we'll stock the fridge with healthy supplies, and I should be able to get SOME exercise, as we'll go walking on the marina, but other than that, I'm worried about the drinking. Any ideas? To be or not to be, that is the question!.
