I've finally joined FatSecret after much prompting from my sister, who joined a while ago and really likes the site. We'll see. I know it's essential to keep track of food and exercise. Most people don't realize how much they're actually consuming versus how much they're expending through exercise. I'm included in "most people."

Reasons I want to lose weight:
1) To be healthy and fit
2) To develop good habits and lifestyle
3) To stop feeling fatigued
4) To look good in whatever I wear

After a lot of years of alternately dieting and not dieting, I've learned that I respond best to low-calorie diets and moderate exercise. I'm going to try to stay around or under 1,200 calories and to do toning exercises (like "Perfectly Fit Buns" from Claudia Schiffer) every other day.

Another thing I've learned is that it's important to make your food count for something. You can eat only 100 calories, but if it's 100 calories of simple carbohydrates, it's not satisfying nutritionally or psychologically. So another thing I'm going to try to do is make the food I eat have nutritional value, or as I put it to my sister, I want to "get the most bang for my calorie buck."

In a nutshell: Onward and (I hope) downward!! :)

Yay! I'm glad you succumbed to my peer pressure! I haven't started losing yet, but I have learned a lot about how much I actually eat and how few calories I burn - the result? Job blob! Plus, if we all do this together, we're more likely not to cheat since everyone can see not only the result, but the "bad" actions that got us there. Luvya!
