Went AWOL, but have returned...to continue the race..

Quick recap:

Thursday May 1st:
Had to get to work early..the rest of the day was spent in the usual of classes and meetings etc, but also some time wrapping up a lot of projects, data, close patient files etc., as this was the last week before finals--and the summer break! Very busy and stressful. No workout in the morning...and none in the evening either!
Meals: less cereal than usual; thai red curry for lunch, 1.5 more stack of crackers from yesterday!, dinner was something healthy made at home--but I can't remember this far back now!

Friday May 2nd:
Morning breakfast as usual..and then a final research meeting. Afternoon entailed a big research-day conference where three of my students were presenting (they'd never done this before so needed a fair bit of supervision from me). Other than that, lots of networking and schmoozing with fellow faculty and colleagues. Needless to say, this stuff takes work! And a toll on one! So, I just let my guard down and set about sampling some stuff off the large spread of delectable, decadent stuff they were serving at the reception. Had 1/4 of a glass of wine (it wasn't very good, so didn't bother drinking any more). But had way more cheeses, spanakopitas, bruchettas, stuffed ravioli, etc...even though I was supposed to go to dinner soon after! Did end up going to dinner (Vietnamese), and thought I'd have just a small amount of my noodle dish, but instead ended finishing it all! After dinner we went to a classical concert--beautiful--then went for a nightcap (coffee for me), and stayed out until the wee hours of morning! (And hence my late waking up on Saturday morning). Oh! no exercise on Friday either!
Meals: Breakfast cereal, 1 protein bar, handful of nuts/snack mix, and at the reception: crackers, cheeses, 2-4 stuffed ravioli, roasted veggies, 4-5 spanakopitas, 4-5 burschetta pieces. Dinner: 1 bowl of noodles with veggies and two fried spring rolls

Saturday May 3rd:
Woke up VERY LATE. Mad dash to go get my groceries, off to chinatown for more asian produce, and to the farmers' market for other fresh produce and fruits. Thought I'd have some quick time for a workout after that, but after being done with shopping, storing stuff, cooking dinner, there was barely any time left for even wolfing down dinner, let alone working out! I did choose to opt out of dinner out and cooked home instead to avoid unnecessary calories. Went out for a movie (The Counterfieters--Excellnet, BTW!), and then for a drink (diet pepsi). Thus, no workout today either. However, good news with all the food choices.Weight at dropped earlier in the week, but now I'm up to the same on last Saturday (Well, at least it didn't gain despite the splurge from yesterday!)
MEals:
Eggbeater omelette, 2 toasts with chutney, roasted peas 2-3 servings, 1 protein bar, and a little bit of bean curd stir fry with beans and walnuts for extra protein!

Sunday May 4th:
Healthy brunch, some work online, chatted with mom, got ready, and went out with friends for an early show of a movie (The Visitor--Great stuff!!), later followed by Indian food for dinner (popular restaurant, but thoroughly disappointing as it was so NOT authentic! There goes the wasted calories!! Didn't workout today.
Meals today:
3 eggwhites in omelette, feta, chives, tomato, olives + tomato slices/oil/goat cheese (4)
1 ww icecream (2)
Bean curd stir fry (4)
some cheese slivers (2)
Dinner: 3 balls malai kofta and 1 naan

Ok, this brings all records up to date...not that it really matters now that it's history, but I'd like to track things just the same, and don't want to have big discontinuity in my record....Hoping to get back to my good sleep cycle from tomorrow morning and go work out then and then get everything else back on track! Good news is I still fit in my new clothes--and would like to continue the good track downwards--and not sabotage it..meanwhile, will need self-incentive now that the ATW challenge is over! Can't forget the goals!!

Welcome back! I've missed you!!! You have been super busy with work and play :D I'm glad things are going well (i.e. clothes fit) and that you are back on fatsecret!

Yay! She's back! I missed you, too! I know it can be tough to stay on track with all of your social activities. I wish I had your social calendar, though! You're just a going concern! Good job keeping things in maintenance mode... so much better than being in a "deficit" (my new word to replace the four letter "gain"!). Today is a new day and a fresh start. You can do it!

Yikes - that is a busy week. Hope that you can squeeze some more time for yourself this week. Good luck.

Great attitude. Things didn't go according to your "plan" and all is still well, good for you. Keep it up!

You know, it's funny... when you commented in my journal that you looked up what "a going concern" meant it made me wonder what the "dictionary" definition was as it's always just been something my Mom said when someone was really busy. My impression of what it was is a little off from what google told me - "A term for a company that has the resources needed in order to continue to operate indefinitely." I wanted to make sure I wasn't inadvertently saying something bad! So... it sounds funny now that I know the "real" meaning, but it was meant to be a compliment:) And I guess it still is with the actual meaning!

The main thing is that you returned to the fold, and you didn't do too much (in fact, any) damage while you were having some time out! It's a new week, just start afresh - that's what I'm going to do!! PS Thanks for your "skinny" comment on my journal - that made me very happy! (The answer to your question is, I hide most of my remaining excess weight below the waist!!) :)

So glad you are back! Looks like you've been super busy too! I'm trying to stay motivated too, but it looks like you are doing pretty good!
