alllicat's Journal, 21 June 2010

Well, I'm up, as I knew I would be today. I weighed myself nice and early yesterday, and got that new low. I was happy, and excited, because since I was in the 130's, I had acheived the first part of my goal to be in the 130s for vacation.

Then I ate. Yesterday was insance, blueberry pancakes, butter, syrup, potato chips, prime rib, twice baked potatoes, balsamic mushrooms, salad, good seasonings italian dressing, and creme brulee. When I weighed myself that night I had ballooned up to 144!

So after trying to combat some of the gain with water, this morning it was 141. I'm not recording it, because I know it's temporary. It'll go back down, I know it. I'm sure that by next Monday I'll be posting a loss, so I'm not too worried.

I'm going to start exercising hardcore again. And not being so terribly lax on the weekends. If I allow myself one day on the weekend, not to care, that will probably help me a lot in the long run.

I wrote it in my journal yesterday, but I shall re-pose the question, does anyone have any sort of recommendation for stretch marks? I carried a lot of my weight in my stomach (making me look pregnant) so I have a ton of stretch marks. I have to say they are unsightly. Any sort of help, would be appreciated!

Wow, we both went nuts with the food on fathers day! lol But you only did it one day, so I know your gain will be gone soon, no worries. As far as stretch mark cream, I don't really know of anything. What about what you use when your pregnant though, Palmers Coco butter? I don't know if that will help after though, maybe only a preventative thing.... Anyway, have a good one, and I'll be on AIM allll daaaayyyyy loooonnnnnggggg! lol

Yeaaa! Congrats on being in the 130's!!!! I can't wait until I am there too..pretty soon hopefully.:) I am not sure about any remedies for stretch marks, luckily I did not get them when I was pregnant with my son as I was up to 205 lbs. I have heard of creams, but not sure if they work or not. Sorry. Maybe there are some home remedies online that are available.

I know this sucks to say but TIME. I've had stretch marks since I was 14 on my inner thighs and they were much more noticeable back then than they are now. However, I have a friend who swears by Mederma (sp?). She said it faded the color quick. I don't know what the price point of it is though.

Oh Mederma is expensive and you have to apply it all the time. So you go through it quickly. I have an ugly scar on my upper arm that everyone suggests that I use Mederma for, but it's just so terribly expensive that I can't justify purchasing it. I just prefer to tell people I got shanked lol :)

Lol... that is great for a story. Have you heard of Bio Oil? I've seen lots of ads for it and there are ALWAYS coupons for it. But it could just be pure crap that people say it works for them. But Rite Aid sells it so it must be (relatively) cheap.

Ah ... stretch marks. No. Sorry to say no advice from one who has more than her share!! Well, perhaps I do have my share. I've decided to embrace them and make them the road maps of my life!! LOL!!! Thinking about a tattoo to outline them. Just kidding!!! Congrats on seeing the 130's and yes you will see them again very soon!! Alli ... pay attention. Don't lose this weight and then go right back to the life of eating you had before. Don't repeat my mistake of having lost and gained weight all my 20's, 30's and 40's and finally figure it out in my 50's!!! Gaining here is there is 'normal' ... going back on autopilot isn't advised and is not a choice you need to make!! My hope is that you and others will learn that you don't have to be in pain as long as I (and others). Sorry if this sounds 'lectury' it comes straight from my heart. You are doing so well ... I'm so proud of you!!

Moose, I don't think I can ever go back to the way I was eating ever again! Too much fast food and simply being lazy about food choices. I don't take it as a lecture at all. You know, you've been there, you are merely imparting your wisdom to someone you don't want to see make the same, shall we label them as mistakes(?), as you did. I appreciate it so much and truly respect and value your thoughts and advice. I want to be able to be at and/or hover around my goal as long as you have. I'm in this for the long haul and I'm happy that I know that you are there supporting me! And I there for you!
