Didn't really stick to this until April/May when I weighed in at 175 :( Since then I really paid attention to calories, portions, sugar, and added walking as an almost daily exercise (2-3 miles). Beakfast is key jump starting my metabolism so I definitely get my calories in my favorite meal of the day ;) I'm now about the size I was in high school! Once I cut out soda, processed sugar, and most breads and carbs I felt my cravings go away. Now I pay better attention to what the cravings actually mean: if I crave sugar I know my body wants protein. If it's basic munchies, then I know to drink water. This is not a diet, it's a lifestyle. I hike mountains, ride my bike, and still generally eat what I want being well aware of how it affects me. This is a no stress lifestyle change. Once my body adjusted to the change which took a couple weeks, the weight started coming off. I plateaued at 165 and recently at 150 but kept at it. The key has been reducing the processed foods and sugars, good breakfast in the morning and not eating after 8. The South Beach Diet is a good model too.
