The cold, hard truth... I weigh more now than I did a year ago.
F***.
I let myself slip. I got too comfortable. I have to accept that this journey will never end, and that the end goal is simply a better status quo.
It's worth it.
I'm making progress. I'm starting up good habits, and phasing out bad ones. Not everyone is on board with me, but I have the support I need right here.
The naysayers don't realize how much they fuel me to go farther.
I feel like I'm at a turning point, and things are going to go my way.
I'm going to make them go my way.

Sometimes the most important thing in your life needs to be you. Call it selfish or egotistic, but if you can't even give yourself 100%, what are you going to be able to do for somebody else?

Sorry for the lack of funny in this post. I've just been doing a lot of thinking lately.

Taking care of our health never ends. maybe there isn't even an end goal. Our weight fluctuates, we might lose our focus sometime because other things come in our way, and we find out that we will never be "there". I like what you said about giving yourself 100%, and I think it's the opposite of selfishness. this 100% doesn't take anything from what you can give to someone else, to the contrary it allows you to be more "available" to others. have a good day!

Hey, maintenance is hard. If it weren't every weight loss story would be an unparalleled success. You weigh more than you did a year ago, but you don't weigh more than you did when you started. You caught it, realized you had slipped back to some bad habits, and you're fixing it. I'd call that a victory, not a turning point.

Now you aren't entirly F***ed. You are inlove. We all make the mistake of giving more to others than to ourselves. Its when we realize that it is ok to do more for ourselves, and it pleases your partner to do so, that we can willingly give even more to them. (crap did that make sense??)

@Cindy: Haha, yeah, I know what you're trying to say. @wintersmith: I'm working hard on making health a habit. I just got to a point where I didn't really care for a while. @jessyline: I think so too.

It would be more strange, I think, if you didn't take a bit of break after all your intense focus over the last year and your marathon and your new love. You'll find a new balance that will work for you. I have no doubt. You're already doing it, in fact.

I'm in the same boat, /0! But let's look at the big picture (we've come a long way, baby!), grab our bootstraps and PULL! We're with you, cheering you on! um, ... what's a bootstrap?!

You will be just fine /) I am still amazed at what you have done. Besides talk to Info about maintenance, it's a process no one stays a flat weight...it fluctuates. Besides with all that running I have no doubt it is not much in the fat department and you are getting back into the healthy groove which is all that matters. I need some of those bootstraps, Amy know where I can gets some?
