Day two of the diet started pretty rough. My youngest was up several times in the night with a fever and stuffy nose, so we got a late start and missed our morning walk, but we continued to eat well. I really don't feel as if I am on a diet. Yesterday I ate a lot of food and it was under 1200 calories. I am hungry during meal times, and meals are enough that I am full but not stuffed. Before the diet I thought I didn't really eat that much, but because I have been measuring out my portions I've realized that I have been eating big. For example will eat a big bowl a cereal (maybe two) in the morning, then snack on fruit and maybe have a bagel during the day or sometimes not eat anything until dinner. Dinner time I will cook a big meal for my family of six (husband, two teenage boys, between girl, and an 8 yr old girl), I would eat until I was stuffed then drink coffee with loads of creamer and a large dessert (boo). On this diet I ate healthy foods and a lot of them. I didn't think I could get all the calories in. I did notice that after dinner I started craving snacks and found my self heading towards the kitchen to eat something (its a good thing all the snack foods are out of the house). We have 40 calorie sugar free fudge pops for an after dinner dessert so I ate that and was satisfied though I still was craving the coffee with creamer. I will have to devise away to have coffee with maybe a soy creamer and some vanilla flavoring or something. Also I am shocked at how much of a calorie difference using low or non fat items like jam 100+ cal per serving verses 10 cal per serving (wow).
