Slow Cooker Barbecued Ribs

Barbecued country style pork ribs.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Spray 6-8 qt slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray. Place ribs, sliced onion and minced garlic in slow cooker.
  2. Cover, cook on low setting 8-10 hours.
  3. Drain and discard juices from slow cooker. Take meat out first, wipe edge of cooker clean and put meat back in.
  4. In measuring cup, combine barbecue sauce (reduced sugar if available) and jam. Mix well.
  5. Pour or spoon mixture over ribs, coating evenly.
  6. Cover, cook on high for 25-30 minutes or until ribs are glazed. Serve sauce with ribs.
  7. Note: the nutrition facts don't take into consideration all the fat and juices that you discard. Enjoy!

This is fantastic. The sugar free jam is 3/4 of a cup. It is wonderful and tender too.

I will definitely make it again and even experiment a little with different flavors of sauce. We used Kroger brand honey bbq sauce with blackberry jam. It was very good and the kids liked it too.

came out a bit sweet for my family's taste. But I used Honey BBQ sauce that I already had at home. I am sure added to the results I got. I will try again with regular BBQ.
