Plain Lugaw

A basic rice soup using glutinous rice sauteed in garlic, onions and ginger. Also seasoned with fish sauce and ground black pepper.



  1. Saute garlic, onion and ginger in canola oil.
  2. Season with fish sauce and black pepper.
  3. Add 6 cups of water and boil.
  4. Wash glutinous rice and then add to boiling stock. Cook for 30 minutes or until rice is tender. Add water if needed.
  5. Garnish with spring onion and boiled egg before serving.
