Great crunchy snack.
Ingredients
Directions
- Cut 1 slice of American cheese into 16 pieces.
- Place around the outer edge of a piece of parchment paper. With a space in between each square.
- Place in microwave. Microwave on high for 50-60 seconds. Remove from microwave and let them cool.
- Place them in an airtight container. I put them in baggies, 16 to a bag - so I don't eat too many.

LOVED THESE!!! I was very skeptical as i was reading this recipe, and even when microwaving them, but wow. They're simple and easy, great salad topper or just to snack on. My only suggestion is to make sure you're using a nonstick plate or place some wax paper on your plate because these crackers harden and stick

I use Kraft Deluxe Cheddar Cheese slices and follow the recipe above (including using parchment paper to keep from sticking). They taste better than Cheez-its! My whole family loves them. Excellent low-carb snack for Induction.

So good I just use Kraft Singles and they come off of the parchment paper with no problem! Mine formed bubbles so I'm going to try to put a piece of paper on top to make them flat.

You really must use the Deluxe American cheese for the best results. Excellent snack to take on the go or to parties where non-plan food will be available. Play around with your microwave time and be sure to use parchment paper.

I love them. I like to sprinkle a little red pepper powder on them before placing them in the microwave. Other ideas would be chives, parsley, garlic, etc.

WOW just got around to making these. They are wonderful. I used the Kraft singles because that is what I had but I have heard the Deluxe cheese is better. But there is nothing wrong with these. The kraft puffs up the deluxe dosent. Make sure to use Parchment paper on your microwave plate. I also used seasonings on mine. I made 2 bags with sea salt, 2 with garlic salt, 2 with cayenne pepper and 2 regular. I took Kaddy6001's advice and put them into individual snack bags so I can just grab a bag and go. Each bag holds the 16 crackers but all mine have 15 cause I had to try 1 out of each batch to make sure I liked the seasonings. lol. Thanks for sharing this recipe. JUST WONDERFUL.
