Indian Dhal (Lentils)
Healthy and delicious Indian inspired dhal.
Ingredients
Directions
- Cover lentils with boiling water and allow to stand for 15 minutes.
- Heat olive oil in a pan and cook onions and garlic for 2 minutes.
- Add cumin seeds, turmeric and curry powder. Cook for 2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add mushrooms and green pepper. Stirfry for a
further 2 minutes.
- Add stock and lentils.
Cook over medium heat for 35-45 minutes, or until dhal
thickens.
- Stir frequently to avoid sticking.

I was out of several of the spices so instead I added tho the onion/garlic combo 3 tbsps of a Tandoori curry paste made by PATAK. I let it cook for the same 2 minutes and then continued with the recipe. Easy and delicious.

An enjoyable meal, would defanetly make it again enjoyed by all, i added a bit of chopped coriander to it just befor serving. thank you for sharing

As long as it isn't eaten often - lentils are sort of out of the question.
