I am 49 1/2 years old, and have 3 grown children, with my first grandchild due in April. I am completely disabled at the moment, I have severe arthritis in my knees and back which makes it extremely hard if not impossible for me to get up and exercise. I want to lose weight so I can hopefully be healthier (I am also diabetic) and live long enough and move well enough to at least see my soon-to-be-born grandson graduate college (without being in a wheelchair!)

Valuable Resource IDEAL WEIGHT
Don't forget that your bone structure plays a part in what you should weigh too. Your "proper" weight is going to be higher the larger boned you are. In other words, if you are "big boned" you are going to weigh more than someone who LOOKS the same but is "small boned". You say that you are "one monster of a guy", and if people say you look too skinny, I would guess that you are very "large boned". That means if you were what is considered normal weight for the average person, YOU would be anorexic!
