Ok, so here is the thing:

I am a Mom.
I am a friend.
I am a Christ-follower.
I am a volunteer.
I am a knitter.
I am a woman.
I am fat.

Only one of those things is not something I want to be. So I'm changing it.I am going to do what I can to honor the temple I was given.

the simplest challenge yet.....or is it?
Is this where to come to get friends????

I've been on here for a few months and no buddies for me.....

I love the idea of the mutual support. Gleaning ideas from new friends, keeping each other accountable, and cheering each other along!!!

I'll be your buddy!!!

What are you doing?
Been walking, now starting (uber-beginner) running, watching the food. Tradign all my dishes for smaller ones--Bowls became ramekins, large dinner plates are becoming 9" salad plates. I'm only cooking the portios recomended, and all the fresh veggies we want.....

last straw?

My last straw...im not sure that I can narrow it down to just one, so how bout a small handful? First and foremost I found a man that was good to me and saw me for me, and then he decided he wanted to keep me forever....we are due to get married Nov. 9, 2012 and I so dont want to be a fat bride. Most of my other reasons go hand in hand. I was a single mom for a long time and would never take time for me, more or less spend money on myself unless it HAD to be done. Im 33 now and have decided that its time to do something for me, and getting healthy and everything that goes with that. I have not told anyone except the people on this website and the people at the gym what I am doing cause I dont think I could handle if someone made some kinda remark. SOrry I babbled so much yall!

Oh, wow--you sound like me...I'm 33, and my last straw came in February when I actually stepped on a scale for the first time in ages.

I had this flashback to the night before I gave birth to my daughter, and I remembered the number from there---I was 15 pounds heavier thatn I was when I was full-term. And I was overweight then.....

I've upped and downed since then, but I'm sticking to this like glue. I've lost nearly 35 pounds since then and have a "big goal" of another 50-70.
