i'm 46 yrs old. currently laid up with a back injury. so the last couple of months i've gained a lot weight. i need to eat food with my meds or i get sick so along with that being bored and stressed out gained about 30 lbs. i tried the hcg and lost 13 lbs in 2 weeks but got bored with the same foods and being hungry all the time and started to get shakes so i quit that and gonna trry the atkins. previous to the hcg, i thought just eating fruits and veggies would help lose weight but it didn't. that's when i started looking for diet plans to lose weight. so here i am and will lose my goal weight one way or another.

i wanna thank all of you for your replies. as instructed in phase 1 that i am so tuned in to net carb intake and don't even look at calories. it's been difficult exercising due to my back injury so just been walking. i've got 2 torn discs which the disc fluid leaking out and causing such pain in my legs. i made a promise to myself though that i am gonna lose the weight i set out to lose. again thanks. i'll go back and read some more about the whole atkins process.

you nailed it. i feel like i am trapped in phase 1 since i haven't loss much during induction. i know i need to use the same food types in phase 1 and add just a few things.

hey everyone,

should i stay on phase 1 or move on to phase 2? this is my 3rd week and was doing the induction but only have lost 3 lbs. i have 22 lbs left towards my goal weight. so not usre when to move on to next phase or continue with induction.

thanks gkcfm95. yeah i have the atkins quick guide, carb counter. i've been online as well going through the phases and what foods a person can eat. guess the hardest is going through recipes that are acceptable and things like that. again thanks.
