High Cholesterol and Clueless PCP
Hey Ingria,

I am not a spammer and I am not pushing any products. I put an article link to one of my sups in my signature because it was that helpful to me. I assure you that I am not here to sell or advertise at all, it is literally an article. I should have used the other article with a shorter link but I am just sharing it because it was helpful to me, that is all and there are a ton other articles. There is no specific vendor or sales link etc. It was meant to be informative, nothing more. I apologize if I somehow offended you.

High Cholesterol and Clueless PCP
After my annual check-up a few months back (August), I came away disappointed. Not only did my PCP immediately suggest putting me on medication, he wanted me to go on a diet. As he put it "stop eating and lose weight". When I told him that I did not want to be put on medication, he agreed to give me three months to try and lower it with diet and exercise.

As I sat there waiting for him to come back with a diet plan, the minutes slowly passed and he never returned. Finally, after waiting half an hour, I went looking or him. One of his assistance advised him that I was waiting for him and he sauntered on over "yes, what can I do for you?" to which I answered "I was waiting on the diet plan". He laughed and said "what diet plan? just eat less and walk 30 minutes a day. See you in three months" and off he went.

Ugh, you can't imagine how annoyed I was! My LDL was high and my HDL was low. I had gone on a high protein diet with low carbs and lots of veggies and yet for some reason, my scale moved at a snails pace. I decided to drop the diet altogether and just keep my calorie intake at the recommended calorie numbers published on health.gov, combined with healthier and cleaner meal plans.

My neighbor overheard me talking to a friend on the porch, went inside and then came over with a bottle of a supplement that worked for her. I won't post the name of the distributor (I'm not trying to sell, just inform), suffice it to say that I am telling anyone that will listen about it. It's called Garcinia Cambogia Extract.

I won't lie, at first I kept forgetting to take it, which is why I didn't want to be put on medication for my cholesterol. I don't want you to get the wrong impression, I'm not saying that this supplement cured my cholesterol, that's not the case however, my weight-loss did bring me down to normal numbers. Because of my age and activity level, I was able to work hard with a cleaner diet, exercise and supplements and get to an optimal level.

Not only did I balance my numbers out in a three month period, my numbers are amazing: My LDL is a 120, down from 230, my HDL is at 62, up from 49 and my Trig is at 110 down from from 210. I don't know the science behind how this combination of things worked for me, I was never on an actual diet, I just ate cleaner, organic, fish and chicken, lots of veggie etc. I'm just glad that it did work.

After the holidays, I packed on a few pounds and it's now February, but thankfully I know what I need to do and I'm already back on my summer routine and am ready to rock these 10 pounds.

Good luck and God Speed

Keep it simple
That is so much harder to do when you have a family! I have to plan 3 meals a day. I have to take out the meat, make sure the veggies are cut up, ohh so much to do. I try to make sure they have balanced healthy meals. We don’t eat packaged foods very often. I make as much as I can from scratch because it is healthier. I always say the more processes your “food” goes through the less healthy it is. But cooking takes time, and when you work you don’t have time. It takes some re-prioritizing.

Real Women, Real Bodies
I love that site! You know what is strange about the current concept of beauty? I is completely based on looking (what is considered to be) “healthy”. What healthy looks like has changed over the centuries. It used to be ‘healthy’ to be slightly plump. Even in the last few decades it has changed drastically. Marilyn Monroe, Ms Sexy herself was a modern size 14. I have weighed pretty much the same for 20 odd years and yet have gone up a size. Something is fishy about it all if you ask me. Personally I look at those supermodels and think ‘omg she needs a sandwich or something!’

QUIT SMOKING
Awesome! I am glad to hear you quit! I just want to say that I personally know lots of people who have had this same problem. I have ever smoked so I don’t understand, but I have observed a few things with family members. I watched them simply substitute one addiction for another. Smoking is an oral activity that keeps your hands busy. Unfortunately so is eating. Many people gain weight when they quit. I think the reason is they are used to having that cigarette in their hands and puffing with their mouth. I don’t know what the answer to not snacking is, but celery has no calories.
