Hi, my name is Warren, I live in a suburb of Los Angeles, California. I also spend a lot of time in Las Vegas, Nevada. I am retired, and I am 6'7" tall, and I am trying to maintain a balanced weight to relieve stress from my left knee in particular, that I hurt running a few months ago. I also played football, so there most likely is damage from that, also, to my knee. Also, I recently found out I have prostate cancer, but believe I can manage it. I enjoy running, but need to rehab my knee to continue keeping active. I have lost close to 12 pounds or more, but wish to lose more. My goal is 255 pounds, but to be honest, I haven't been there in 20 or more years.

Sad
That is so very true, and we don't look at it that way, for sure. I'm 6'7" tall, so it makes sense, that I can eat more food. Also, a smaller person losing a pound is a bigger deal.

Just a thought
Very well said, Steven Lloyd. We all need to find OUR own way to weight loss and fitness.

The Gift of Life
Marymaryquit, and others here. I have been donating blood for many years now, and the idea, that I could save someone's life is very rewarding to me. I found out that my antigen free blood, that is used for babies blood, is in real need. Most women have antigens in their blood from pregnancy. So my blood is much needed. Last time, though, they for the first time, wanted me to do a double donation of red blood cells, which takes a longer stay, but allows them two donations instead of one. My off donation time with a double donation is 110 day wait before another donation. I really believe this is the most rewarding act a person can give. Congrats on your giving and donations!

Good day, I have a question, a conundrum of sorts
Mahjohn, I believe unfortunately we are as people biased in many ways. We need, as an individual, to fight our biases, as to what a person is by how they look. We are all guilty of prejudice, in all aspects of our life, and how we judge people's worth, by not even consciously realizing it. We are taught, what we believe is norm, from the day we are born. In this situation, you propose, should an overweight person be judged by that weight? In a job interview, a person is really being judged, usually quite harshly, on all aspects of what is that person projects, with their spoken words, most critically judged to their capabilities. In my life I have been quite amazed how much my likability, and not so much my competence, really helped me. I think it helps, that I am tall also. Bottom line, we live in a very judgmental world.

Having some trouble.
Knuckles, are you sure it is not what you are eating. Bratwurst can be tough on many stomachs. Have you ever taken antacids? It may be one of those benefits of losing weight also, if you continue losing weight. You are a big guy, and digestion can be consequence of that. I would stay the diet course, and watch foods that can be greasy, and bulky. Meats in general can be tough to digest.
