41 y/o R.N. 2 kids, 7 dogs, 3 cats, knitter with emotional eating issues. I've been following SB since Feb. and I'm amazed at how good I feel and how much weight I've lost. In the past I've tried BFL (lost about 20#, but gave up after 11 weeks), starving, medications, Curves and the F-it diet (that's how I got to 260+). In late March I started walking 6 days a week for more than a mile a day. Because I drive most of the day for my job, taking food to work is a challenge. I'm starting to feel changes related to aging and obesity and I'm ready to get rid of the fat that protects me from life and living.

Late night cravings
I've not quit 100% (have one cigarette in the evening and chew nicotine gum during the day), but I still have the craving to put something in my mouth from the time I walk in the door at 5:30 until I go to bed at 10. I'm working on making new habits that dissuade me from eating past dinner. Just the small amount of structure in following Phase 1 of the SBD has helped break the crazy cravings in the evening.

I have crafts I want to get back into and I know that will help with the late evening cravings. I also know that the cravings and desire to overeat are signs that I'm not coping with my emotions regarding the eating plan, not smoking and stress from work. That means I need to dig deeper into myself.

50 LB WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE - WELCOME
It feels so good to have others who are writing about their successes and struggles. I had a rough eating day yesterday, but I feel positive about today. Wrote out my eating plan and now I need to just get ready for the day. Tried a new salad a McDonalds this weekend, the Asian one. Wow, it was great. I've been weaning myself off salad dressing. I think I'm down to 1 Tbsp. This has taken me 3 months to do, but I'm needing less and less to flavor the greens.

First week was great. I missed 2 days of walking, but did gardening and housework instead.
