I have been heavy all of my life. I had open-heart surgery in January of 2010. I am desperate to lose weight and get my life and health back. I tipped the scale at the doctors office at 403lb. Wow. I know that I have more than forty pounds to lose, but for my mental health and for fear of being over whelmed at seeing "250 lbs to go" every day, I am going to break it up into ten percent of my body weight intervals. I have finally created a group of friends that are supportive and loving and I think with their help, I can keep on track this time. Losing weight is such a mental game for me. I need to keep positive thoughts and keep moving forward. My son is my world and I don't just want to be here for him, I want to participate in life with him. No more waiting to be skinny to do things-I am doing them now!

zero calorie dressing, syrups, mayo & more
I too have tried some of the Walden Farms products. It's hit and miss. I am with Hoser Smile They taste chemically. I don't see how they can have NO calories-and what is cellulose gel? ugh A scoop of nonfat greek yogurt that is doctored up with spices can make a nice dressing too.

I don't know who said it or printed it, but "A year from now, are you going to be glad you started or wishing you had?"

Birthday cake low carb, tasty?
Meringue cookies are always a hit-you can flavor them with about anything and use Splenda to sweeten them. When I am wanting something to share-these are my go to! Good luck,

headache first few days on Atkins
DDeanna-if you are having headaches try and drink more water. Many of the high protein items we eat are loaded with sodium which can cause dehydration. Also, the lack of sugar and/or caffeine can cause the headaches. They eventually go away, but make sure you are drinking LOTS of water. Best wishes to you Smile
