I'm 45 and have been battling my weight most of my life. But since I turned 40, I've gained at least 60lbs. Low budget meal menus, too big portion sizes, stress related binges, and sit down jobs heaped on top of genetic and age related factors, my metabolism has practically stopped. Health issues, diabetes, heart disease, blah, blah, blah are of course good reasons to want to lose weight but my #1 reason is I just HATE being fat. I hate everything about it and want it GONE!

What about an "edit" feature for My Fatsecret page?
I have My Yahoo as my home page and it lets me edit everything on there. I can keep what I want and edit out what I don't. I can even change how I want it to look. I really like it.

Why this bites to me
I'm not sure if I'm going to like that color scale beside my weigh-in entries. It would really bum me out to have it stay in the red! Sad

How often do you weigh?
I'm an admitted scale hopper....big time. I know I weigh at least twice a day and sometimes more. Who knows why....just as long as it isn't destructive or illegal, I don't really care. But I only record my weight once a week.

Atkins causing Colon Cancer??!!!!
I heard or read somewhere that Atkins can be hard on the kidneys. True or not, being prone to kidney infections, I stay away from anything that might possibly tamper with them.

But I also see side effects from popular drugs that doctors prescribe everyday. I guess most anything these days come with one risk or another. Traffic is my biggest health risk.

But I'm old and set in my ways. I still believe the tried and true method of eating healthy foods and exercising is the best way to go.
