I'm a first time mother and I'm loving every minute of it! We tried for 8 years to have a child until our sweet Cade came along. I have always had a problem with my weight. I can't ever remember a time when I didn't feel bigger than my peers. I have tried endless diets to lose only 20 lbs while my buddies successfully loss upwards of 80 lbs or more. I'm glad I could be there as a support for them, but it has given me a complex about my own ability to lose weight. I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 13 (21 years ago) and have just recently found a specialist that treats the effects it has on one's body. Thankfully, all my blood work came back great and I have nothing more than the hair growth and weight gain to contend with (believe me it is enough on it's own!) So, I'm seeing their nutritionist, Melissa, who is very confident that I will be successful on this GI diet. So far, she is right! I started at 260 on Aug 25th and I'm down to 252 with a significant drop in body fat percentage. I'm really pleased at how easy the diet is. The hardest thing so far is cutting out sodas and sweet tea. But the eating 6x a day hasn't been all that hard at all. If I'm in a hurry just a bag of nuts or 10 carrots does the trick.
So, I'm off on this wonderful journey to a THINRME. I hope that I continue on the path to health so that I can be here for my baby for many more years (and I wouldn't mind having a baby brother or sister for him either!)
